I have been offered extra hours at week bringing me up to 35 hours a week, but they only want to pay me £10,600. I have turned it down but wanted to know what you thought. Would you work 35 hours week for £10,600 ? ( I do 22 hours a week at the moment and over 40 years of age) Thanks

if my calculations are correct (and I make no guarantees that they are :rotfl:) thats £5.82 an hour, depends on the job but if its manual labour, shop work yes I would. If its below NMW I would say no - Mainly because if they are willing to flout those rules, what other corners are they cutting. Plus I wouldnt want to work for someone that didnt even respect me enough to pay NMW.

Thanks for your input, I did think cheeky B****rs, and though if I saw that advertised in the job paper, would I go for it? No I wouldn't, so I am staying at 22 hours and going down the ebay route for extra pennies and I can do this in the comfort of my own home8 years of being on a DMP finished 3/3/140

 shows how much times have changed! I worked as an accountant for less than that 6 years agoAnd when I started on the ladder as an admin worker I got paid £5k a year for a 40 hr week
and that was 15 years ago.
Wonder how they were getting round the minimum wage though . . . do they not pay bank holidays so you lose 8 days? sorry working out bank holidays on my fingers here . . .SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

I think it is a mistake because like Kerrie_dfw says it should be just over £11K. I will ask them to some back with figures in writing tomorrow.
I am not being greedy, but similar jobs within a 30 mile radius and 37.5 hours a week are paying £14-16k
I too jakes-mum used to work full time 15 -20 years ago for £5-6 k8 years of being on a DMP finished 3/3/140
