I have shopped with Asda in 3 different areas and counties and they don't improve. I really begrudge having to sometimes use them mainly due to them stocking certain items we buy that I can't get a decent alternative with by using another company.

The amount of times they have been late, their food has been dated for that day, on one occasion I had 27 items missing from my shopping and on numerous occasions they've not refunded my money for items sent back. Then when they do substitute they pack it with the normal shopping, so you have to go through the whole lot to see if it's suitable or if you want to return it, plus I've had stupid substitutions like a roast beef joint being replaced with a pork one, last week a tin of spaghetti was replaced with an Asda branded pot noodle type thing. I suggested last week they either keep all the substitutions together in one (or two) bags or they like others use different coloured bags. You would have thought I had just told her she'd won the lottery for the way in which she reacted! It's hardly rocket science.

Ringing their customer service line is a joke along with emailing them, might as well talk to the wall for the amount they actually understand.

I use Tesco, Sainsburys and Ocado and I find Ocado and Tesco's very good, I get text alerts from both to let me know if I need to make any changes I can do it until a certain time, then another text to say what time my shopping will arrive and then when they do all substitutions are kept together in different coloured bags, they highlight any short dated items and if a deal item is substituted I've just got to email or ring and they'll refund me to make sure I've not lost out on the deal!

Asda need to do a hell of a lot to improve their service and I try now to only shop with them once a month and stock up on the items I can't get elsewhere.

I had been a semi happy asda fan for 4-5 years. I found shopping online convenient like most people would. Apart from the odd problem, which was usually dealt with from a phone call to customer services, I was generally happy.

However I will now never use them again after this mornings shop came and cost £10 more than I'd expected! That's all we need when we have to tighten our belts and budget for christmas and bills.

The whole point of online shopping means I KNOW what I've spent and what's available in the bank. When I rang I got 2 useless customer service blokes who just kept saying "I understand but it says in our terms and conditions that we can change the price at any time". I said what an absolute con, right in time for christmas boosting your sales but also losing you customers!

I even said if you bought something online for £20 and on the day they said oh we are going to charge you £30 now....you wouldn't be happy or accept it so why should I? I've done a shop before and it pre warned me that the offer wouldn't be available by the time of my delivery which I was fine about because I could choose whether to pay full price or not, but when they wooo you with bargain deals/3for2 and roll backs...then whack the price back to full in time for your delivery I find that very under hand and sneaky!

This is the first time in 4-5 years they have done it, so anyone else who says "I've had no problems"...watch out! there's still time!

I certainly won't be using asda again and will make sure family and friends know about the "asda shopping online con"
  • Ooooo think I might give sainsburys my custom for a change, definitely had enough of asda and it's offers/cons where they charge you more on the day because they can! pahhh stupid terms and conditions!

Thanks for the sainsburys tip :-)
  • There's still time ;-) lol I was semi happy for 4-5 years but this mornings rip off adding an extra tenner to my shopping was the final straw! Apparently they can do it, it's in their terms and conditions.....bahh humbug for christmas from asda! Just when we don't want to be paying extra, chrimbo season and all that.....wooo you in with bargains/offers/roll backs then on the day charge you full price because they can...be warned :-D

Last time I shopped online at Asda, NONE of the fresh fruit or veg was delivered. Were they really out of onions, bananas etc? Even the delivery driver told me to complain!

Well Asda, I have gone off you, and my latest home shopping delivery order is from TESCO. :) What a difference in terms of the website, so much better and clearer. Tesco even prompt you when you have not fulfilled a multibuy offer completely to ensure you get best vaue!

PS Last Asda delivery the driver came 30 mins early so I was not home, he left the shopping at the back door and has not been back to collect the crates. Thus Asda has effectively fly tipped 4 crates on my property.

    THANKS!

I'm obviously a glutton for punishment & am shopping on their site right now, where chestnuts are in their "soft fruit 2 for £4" promotion. :think:Doesn't bode well for the substitutions!
