When the delivery arrived, they had substituted it for the normal cat litter! Yuck yuck lol. I will have to use that for the month now instead of the original litter ordered. I could have returned it but then I would be stuck in the same situation as before with going to town etc.
It is a pain.
I'd have had to refuse the whole lot as anything other than pellets gives one of my cats problems. I wonder if they would have charged delivery still - probably!
One time I ordered a really light blonde dye and they substituted it for a golden/brown - there were other alternatives they could have chosen too because I went in store and bought one close to what I ordered! I don't think they are interested in their jobs is what it boils down to.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -
I use Asda frequently and never have any probs - must depend where you live!0

Using ASDA grocery home delivery is a nightmare if you amend an order having already checked out because apparently every time you "Checkout", then Asda check the Credit Card directly and if they do it more than once in a short period then the Credit Card company effect ant-fraud procedures and refuse the ASDA transaction. I have tried several different Credit cards and the same happens. This does not happen with two other Home delivery service grocery companies that I have tried.
Contacting the ASDA customer service centre which is based in Cape Town, South Africa does not help- they have an attitude problem even when you can hear them!!
ASDA is an International Company with an American Parent I understand and possibly do not understand the UK.:)0 -
I've never had any problems with Asda home delivery. The only supermarket I have had a problem with was Tesco who refused to delivery our Christmas booze order because 'There are no groceries, only alcohol' (their exact words). Needless to say, they no longer get ANY custom from me! In any case, there wasn't 'only alcohol', there were mixers and soft drinks in the order too but they refused it.There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0

I tried Asda out a couple of times and had so many little problems and niggles that I gave up on them.
The biggest problem was that often offers ended before my shopping was delivered so the bill would go up! Often items in an mulitbuy offer (eg 3 for 2) were substistuted which meant I would lose the deal. The final straw was when I received my delivery and the final bill had gone up by £15 because of offer items substituted and prices changing/offers ending before my delivery.0 -
Just want to have a little vent here myself whilst we're at it! I find ASDA cheaper than Tesco for many of my usual shopping items and they offer cheaper delivery. Despite this, I hate playing roulette with my shopping wondering what I'm going to get instead of what I have actually ordered.
Another massive issue that I had with ASDA home delivery (and I am concious of just how silly this is going to sound) is the fact that one of their delivery drivers repeatedly came to my back door rather than the front, despite me not specifying that I wanted it delivered to the back. This all started after she couldn't find my house and fortunately ended up right outside my back door so, of course, I said 'well you may as well bring it round the back now'. And that was fine on that one occassion but she kept doing it ever since. I know it's silly but this meant having the back door, which leads directly into my living room, open and letting all the heat out; having to carry shopping through the house to the kitchen; having to find my back door keys in a rush. Now I've written in down it sounds so pedantic but it really used to irritate me!
I used ASDA for about 6 months after discovering they were cheaper and I liked their website better. However, I have now switched back to Tesco and am loving it!'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. I do find I get far more substitutions if my order is delivered after lunchtime or at weekends. But as I changed my job, work full time and no longer benefit from school holidays, evening deliveries are the best option for me. The fruit/veg I received was never of great quality and I'm sure once upon a time if they sustituted an item for a more expensive one you used to pay the price of the item you'd originally ordered.
I had similar problems with Mr T but may give them a second chance as Mr S deliveries are beginning to frequently have similar issues to Mr A's.0 -

I would have refused it but our flat is at the back of the property and it is such a pain to get to down the side road. The drivers don't realise there are other ways to get to our door so they end up parking on the side road and carrying it all the way round. Accessibility is a pain and I ordered the litter to save me the hassle of traipsing to town etc as I don't drive.
They are willing to do it then but last year when I ordered from Asda and it was that horrific snow/ice situation, the driver just left me to carry £70's worth of shopping down a slippy hill on my own! I even told him there was another way to my flat but he just didn't want to know .Competition Wins:

I also gave Asda a fair chance with their home delivery service.
They were ALWAYS late (and once didn't turn up and refused to refund my delivery charge!)
Items were always on the cusp of going out of date, and always had substitutes.
I now use Sainsburys and can honestly say I've not had a single problem :rotfl:0 -
I agree with all of you... Asda are really letting themselves down. I'm quite fussy about my coffee and will only drink it with coffee whitener. When I ordered some with our delivery they substituted my ordinary full flavour whitener with LIGHT...!!! You can't drink it with LIGHT... it's like skimmed milk..! It's like light mayonnaise... it's like paying a prostitute for a hug...!
I won't be using Asda delivery service again...!
