Seems some of the bears are waking from their slumber:

"Unbelievable. £1400p/m!!!! I know the phrase "renting is dead money" is a favourite around here for being shot down in flames (mostly for good reason), but come on, that's a massive amount of money!"
Pete.hpc Posted Today, 04:36 PM
"There is a serious point here though about buying, despite the high prices we are facing, you could be making a real dent in a mortgage with 1400 a month, and if you were 5 years down the road at 1400 a month on a mortgage, would you care if you'd overpaid when you take into account the fact you won't be having to deal with cretins like this landlord?"

"£1400 are you MAD!?"

Who gives a toss about posts on another website ? .........
It appears that some do toss about posts on other websites.
I used to visit/sometimes post on "the other website". I hardly ever even visit it now, so I see no reason to mention it. I suppose if I was banned from that site, I might go on about it.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

You could easily test that theory by going over there and posting "I think house prices will go up in the long term. If you sold to rent any earlier than 2006 then there is a good chance that you made a poor decision". Then you will know what it is like to be banned.0 -
I wish that certain people would stop snipping at those who rent. It`s like a new class distinction. When I was younger people who rented were not held up to be muppets as some here would have us believe. Perhaps think about the huge bill funded by the tax payer in housing benefits due to the stupidity of the housing market. Think about youngsters with a decent working ethic who have no chance of buying as they have to fork out rent each month. How do they save up a deposit?
Not sure if some of these HPI cheer leaders have noticed that inflation is running around 5% yet wages are not reflecting this. Or perhaps they have not considered the factor of job losses or indeed the difficulty in getting a job.
Mind you, I doubt that certain posters. not naming names, have the intelligence to understand the broader picture.0 -

How about this one, discussing goat health: http://www.dairygoatinfo.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=6m51gcsup0btcaca2dlfrns724&topic=20947.0
Or a link to this thread comparing manly trucks: http://www.truckingmag.co.uk/truckingmag-forum/showthread.php?p=1030#post1030
Or we could all chat about this up and coming Korean film star: http://www.koreanmovie.com/the_next_big_star_Topic_Post_175_1_1/
After all, we do all come to this forum to talk about completely different forums, don't we?
Wouldnt it be a bit odd if people like us, who patently dont have much better to do than bicker on forums, didn't have an interest in, well, forums?0 -
