Give me strength today... if its not one thing its another... OH's ex is in contact with my ex.. you know the crazy one... funny how I win a court case and OH DS suddenly demands money :mad:

    C x

Oh god, you need to be very careful that she does not tell him where you are, I assume they know if OH ds visits you ? take care x

    Morning all,

It would seem that winter has arrived, brrrr its cold here it was 18 degrees here on sunday, not sure what is is now, but I would guess at 7 or 8, will get OH to put the heating on tonight I think, he has to do something to the system first otherwise I would do it.

Washing on the line, as its very blowy, so should mainly dry today, need to have a quick tidy round, then do my online shop, go and see dad, and nip to Mr T, its my mums birthday on Sunday, and I want to get her a mobile phone.

Saw dad yesterday, and he was not having a good day, ended up leaving there in tears, goodness knows what the staff thought of me, hopefully he will have a better day today.

Roast chook for dinner tonight, with all the trimmings, mum is coming too, yesterday I picked a load of tomatoes from the plants in my garden, and made a batch of pasta sauce, I am amazed to be still picking them on the 14th Nov :T

Lou, how are you today ??

Anniestar, hope you are on xx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all! Hugs to everyone.

It's not really sunny here but it is quite bright now that Little Miss Sunshine has finally woken up. Made a pie for tea before work ready to pop in the oven when we get home. Used my new food processor but misread the recipe and added 9tbsp of water instead of 9tsps, whoops! Added some more flour so it resembled a dough and not a cake mix so fingers crossed it will turn out ok. Mind you DH will eat pastry regardless.
Need to get myself organised to night as I have a few cards to make for friends that need posting tomorrow, should find the time whilst DH watches the footy.

Hope you all have a good day, or at least a better day than yesterday may have been. Take care xxx

I know... DS knows where we are.. If his mother did then she would tell ex.. but what do you do? OH cannot not see his son because of it :(

  • Good Morning Early Birds!!

Not so busy day at work today, but have loads to do at home so I know where I'd rather be!! Unfortunately I am stuck in the office until just after 4 so will have to make do.

ESMF You've just given me some inspiration for tea tomorrow night for DH and the kids, as I'm out at my friends, I'll pop some dough in the bread maker on timer tomorrow and they can have home made pizzas! Thanks :D

Really need to do a supermarket shop, might have to do a Mr T's delivery for tomorrow..... I feel like it's a bit against my religion now as I've been an Aldi convert for about 3 months and have saved heaps of cash. Some things I like that they don't sell (certain branded items), I'll get from Mr S or Mr T, but for most of our weekly shop Aldi is perfect and I estimate we're saving somewhere in the region of £40 on what we used to be spending :money:

So today the WM will be on again this evening x3. Dinner is pork stir fry (was meant to be yesterday but used up leftovers for dinner instead). And then I've got to start preparing for a weekend away in Swansea (football related :T) and for the kids to go to my wonderful Mum's! The rest of the week is unbelievably busy, catching up with friends and agency interviews for permanent jobs. And I need to book the rabbit in at the vets (oh the irony, me talking about pet rabbits, when alot of this thread previously has been talking about eating them :rotfl:). We need to find out if she is actually a he, as 'it' was getting frisky with the other boy bunny this morning.... hmmmmmm.....

Hope you all enjoy your day!

    MMM :)

RR am sure none of the staff think anything awful about you for being upset....watching someone you love disappear into the fog of dementia is a horrendous thing and am sure they all feed very sad for you. Sorry he had a bad day and I hope today is happier for him, if you are going in to see him maybe a cake might cheer him up?, I think they get a lot of comfort and happiness from the little things they enjoy . Hugs for you lovey x You may be feeling a bit teary as it is almost xmas too, I found with a lot of my patients and their relatives it seems to push emotions closer to the surface.
EMS do you not think it is time you pushed for a diagnosis? Maybe then the professionals can get more involved in helping DS, you can`t do it alone:o

Not much OSing going on here, I have a poorly hen....Henrietta Peck, is all hunched up and has a pale face. Am going to have to do thorough clean of the coop etc and throw a lot of Diatom around incase of red mite. Am hoping she is just going to lay a soft shelled egg as they do go a bit like this beforehand, may have to bring her in the house for a bit and help her ...after MrS has been. I do hope it is something simple to sort, have already been crying this morning at the thought of her just fading away which they do sometimes:o...pathetic I know, al over a bloomin hen :(

    Hi everyone

NPM - I hope the rest of the day is not as bad as you are expecting.

Redruby - hugs to you and your dad. It must be such a worry.

Hester - I think it's a great idea to shut your office. I would do it every day (in fact, once in the morning, and once in the afternoon).

Well, a nice sunny but cool day today; it's breezy so I've changed the sheets to make the most of the drying weather. Since the day that next doors' dog tore my washing on the line, there have been no more problems - probably because I make a point of chasing him out of the garden and clapping my hands loudly at the same time every time he gets in. Heaven only knows what people would think of me if they could see me but, luckily, my main audience is a herd of cows and a horse!

I'm not sure about dinner tonight. I want to do something simple. I love cooking from scratch but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for all the prepping, so I shall have to see what I can come up with.

Anyway, I hope you all have a good day.

  • Hi all

RedRuby just read your post, I carry around a packet of tissues in my pocket to hand out to relatives and sometimes staff. Dementia is the worse thing, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. To watch the person you love disappear from you is terrible. NPM is right small things make a difference, hopefully the home are keeping an eye out for constipation and infection, both of which can lead to increased confusion and aggression. If the home are any good they won't think anything of you for crying and hopefully they will support you too. Hugs hunny.

    Hi folks,

Just had my dinner, made scotch broth(except with beef;)) in the pressure cooker,& as I was chopping up veg thought I'd freeze some of the mix, celery, onion, leek, carrot and a bit of soggy swede :p,then next time I can just bung it in the pan.
Took some up to DS2 who is staying out of the way as he has a sore throat etc, along with lemon & manuka honey hot drink.Hope his baby DD doesnt get it,her Nanna brought her to visit after tea yesterday. My DB and family came over to meet her for the first time so that was nice.We put her in the Moses basket we have here, blimey bet it wont last much longer & she's only 7 weeks, seems to have Daddy's long legs:rotfl:She's having her 6 week check today :D

I made pasta bol last night and DH wouldnt eat it as he'd had pasta salad at lunchtime-how was I supposed to know,he's not that keen on pasta anyway (said it was all they had left in the shop)He made himself an omelette:D The trouble is because of all the visitors I forgot the pasta pan on the worktop & now have a load of pasta thats been left out & drying out

RRuby- hope your DD is better today,I'm sure the staff are used to relatives being upset, dont worry about that- lots of hugs to you.
NPM- hope your henny is ok.
Lou-I havent read your blog yet but will do soon. You better have eaten a bit of something today, you know we'll nag, nag, nag if you don't :) Hugs x

    Take care everyone xx
