  • hi kerri, How you doing? i havent been around much, been busy working and spending time with my wee man,
im in the process of spending every penny to get rid of Vanquis by the end of the month but think i might have made a mistake in maxing out my overdraft to do it, so am now paying 2 lots of fees, however after next months dd comes out, i won't have any more interest to pay.

Think after that, I will do what you did, and use Vanquis as a debit card and pay in full every week, don't intend to make the same mistake again and run up any credible balance

Hey Hadahardyear, I was wondering where you had been. I've currently got fees on vanq1s and my OD so have cut up the vanqu1s and am paying everything I can towards that. Using it like a debit card just wasn't working for me, I'm not disciplined enough :( It would have been different if I didn't have the OD I think, but I can always ask for a new card when my OD is all paid up :) Congrats on having one more payment before you have no more interest, that's fab :) you're still doing really well with your repayments. Have you been on your holiday yet?

I was despising paying vanquis any interest.

    Hi Kerri

Glad you had a good time with the family and that you are feeling happier in yourself. We all get those "funny days" don't we.

Sounds like you had a good time at the Wi, I have been to a few of my mums local meetings when I have been to stay, but haven't found a local one near me. Also I would worry I wouldn't make it on time with my commute from London to home.

I love knitting, have made loads of baby clothes in the past, I can crochet (but only blankets) although I have been trying to teach myself on You tube.:D

Good luck with all the planning with the shop and take care

Scotland was a long hard drive, I've put my neck out driving and it hasn't been getting much better yet :(
This month should be my last month of paying interest on vanquish as I'm definitely going to clear it on payday, that's this months challenge.

Hello NRA I need to catch up on your diary. I've been teaching myself from youtub as well, currently trying to learn off there how to do my own piping for a bag I'm sewing, but I've sewn it on the wrong way round oops!
I don't know about your WI, but mine is 8pm on a Tuesday up at Ally Pally, so can easily get to it after work, although it finishes at 10pm which is quite late.
I'd love to know how to make blankets with knitting/crochet, but I don't think I quite have the patience just yet.

OH has just had the dean of his faculty where he's doing his scholarship say that they will pay for him to do a masters over there and he'll sign the paperwork straight away if they're sure they want to do it. OH doesn't know what he wants to do as on the one hand it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, but it'll mean he has to go down the academic route. It'll also mean he'll probably have to do a phd afterwards. However, on the otherhand he's 36 this year and by the time he gets a job he'll be 40, so should he just be going out and getting a job? All I had to say to him was that he had to work out what was important to him.

Aw don't worry Cherry you've been busy with the babe, and I honestly don't know where you get the time to do all the things you do :) I'm going to the craft fair on Saturday to check out what it's like, it's called Jolly Hobby Market. Tonight I've made a handbag, although I think I need to get a bit better at this sewing as it's not as perfect as I'd like it to be. I did teach myself how to do piping though, when I've sewn on the handle I'll post an image of it :)

I'm not sure where you'd find a sewing tutor, I know the basics though so happy to give advice :) I'm lucky that my housemate has industrial machines in our basement and I can use them as I like, but I only use the overlocker as I like to watch tv whilst sewing :) I'd love to see your fb page if you'd let me could you pm me the link? My Mum is on the lookout for photography props so you might get a sale from me :)

I still need to add the handle to the outside of the bag, but couldn't go to bed without posting what I've been up to this evening :) I don't think I'm a fan of the duck cotton though, it frays too easily and I need to work on how to sew piping, but for a first try at the pattern I'm pleased :)474956_10150701080204755_512474754_9528275_213367682_o.jpg
