I've decided I'm going to keep all of the fleabay money myself. I'll deduct fees plus 10% commission for a wasted weekend, then deduct the rest from the amount my sister owes me regardless of what she thinks. Although if this means she stops paying me back, then I'll be really miffed. But like Z says, it's been an expensive lesson. But you are all correct, why should I give someone money when they owe me money. She'd deduct it from the amount owed if the situation were reversed.

49 things listed, I had hoped to do the full 100 but it really is so time consuming. I'm going to edit some photos a bit later, then I can list them the next time there's a free listing as well as the extra 100 for the month up to 99p.

Going to go lookup some slow cooker recipes now, so I can make some lunch for this week.

    In the fridge I have:
    mushrooms
    squash
    leeks
    beetroot
    carrot
    potato
    beans
    cabbage

Not the most thrilling meal but hoping I can make something yummy from it.

    Hiya,

I absolutely agree with the others about keeping any ebay money for yourself & am glad to see that you now intend to keep it. It might be best to give her small cheap gifts in future, rather than money until the debt is repaid.

What she owes you is a an entire month's income for some people, & not many could afford to just let that go :)

made me sad reading that yr sis would not allow the money to go to the debt she owes you. Wish I could close yr purse for you.. because dont like to think she will keep asking. I have no problem if she was desperatly trying to get the money back to you and things were just tight.. but just to not see it as a priority is not right. Keep yr chin up.. but definetly watch for the future xx

Have just told OH I'm not giving my sister a penny of the fleabay money and he said it's going to cause arguments with my sister, pfft! He also said I should just take it all to the CS as 8hrs spent on 49 items of clothes and that's only 1/4 of 1 bag out of 4 bags and 2 boxes is apparently too much time spent. Told him I'm making money out of nothing, he still wasn't impressed.

OH definitely isn't thinking MSE like I am. I suggested he gets a temp job for the next 2 months as his lectures have finished and he is meant to go to Canada for work placement at the end of Feb for 4 months. I bet he doesn't even bother. He seems to think he will be fine with just his student loan whilst he's out there but I definitely think he's going to struggle as flights, accommodation, food, travel all add up. Then I'll end up having to bail him out and I won't be able to say no grrr. He's already gone back on what he said before xmas as well. His Dad has given him £300 that he was going to give to me to keep safe and stop him spending. This is to be used for medical insurance when he gets to Canada, or if he doesn't go to Canada then on something educational (new laptop most likely). But he's decided he'll be fine with keeping it himself and has thrown it in a savings account. So stay tuned for an update where I say he's spent it and kicking himself for doing so.

Anyway, a NSD for me today. My wall calendar is now hung up right by my bedroom door, and next to it is a whiteboard/pin board I've hung up which will have a list of cupboard stuff that's run out and needs replacing. Although I need to pinch a whiteboard marker from work to be able to update this as I've lost mine.

I've finally found the sofa in my room, underneath the carp that was on it, and will now watch the second episode of the first series of the beebs Sherlock. I got very excited in the first when I first saw who Sherlock was, and at that time his face was upside down haha! Then he started whipping things with a riding crop which made me chortle haha!

Should be a NSD tomorrow as well as I have enough food in the house and don't need anything. CK better write back to my snotty email tomorrow, I've written a massive complaint about my delivery not arriving on Thursday and then not arriving on Friday. This was made worse by the fact they offered me full refund of delivery thursday on the phone, replied to first complaint email offering £2 refund of post, and now have sent an email to say they've only refunded £2. Furious I was. Next time I will defo go to JL in oxford st instead hmmfph.

Ooh this was all a bit ranty wasn't it. Sorry everyone, not enough choc today obviously :)

He can't say that until he knows how much it's going to bring in. If it brings in £7 million, he'd be eating his words...

This is the idea behind a diary - to be able to say what you want.

:( I also think you should keep the fleabay money yourself - it seems a kind solution to me as it means you get some money back, even though you are having to put an unfair amount of effort into doing so. And I don't see why on earth your sister would expect to have it when she was going to chuck the stuff anyway and still owes you so much money!!

Canada is amazing but it's not necessarily cheap and if your OH wants to do anything while he's out there to make the most of the time, he'll need money. I don't really see why you should bail him out when he has the opportunity to get a job to fund it. Do you think it might help if you tell him now that you're really trying to save and are worried that your hard work will be overtaken by helping him if he doesn't get something sorted?

Ranting is OK, you can bend ears on here any time (hug)

    Rant away!!!

I'm sooooo pleased you have decided to keep the money for yourself, you can see how long it's taking you to get the bits listed!

Well done on the NSD too.:A

Think you need to have a nice long word yourself about your DFW path cos it's all very well you making savings/paying extra where you can but if you are going to have a leaking tap (money to others....) There will always be something that could have been YOURS slipping away (extra cash, more repayment) Do you think perhaps the OH isn't being as proactive in sorting himself out becasue he knows he will have you to 'bail him out'?

You are soooooo well meaning but sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind because bailing people out isn't actually really helping them learn, apart from learning that there is always somewhere to fall back.

I say all this but can imagine I would probably end up in a similar situation, especially with family, until I didn't actually have anything left to give.:o

Hope you don't feel like I'm having a go cos It's meant with the best of intientions. I was really pleased to see you took all the advice on board that you deserve the recognition and money for the progress you have made with the ebay sales but just keep in your sights that the reason you are paying back the amount you are, is partly due to your kindness to others. Maybe a one liner " You've put me in a really difficult/unpleasant position but I'm sorry I can't....." Something to think about........

Failing that you could tell your sis you got no bids with the few bits you put on and took the rest to the CS. That way she won't even have to know about the proceeds:rotfl:After all she was gonna dump them.
Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end:)

    Every penny's a prisoner:p
