Thats fab :-).. ive got a few points in surveys now. I must admit tho i did a 45 min one the other day and wanted to throw the lap top out of the window lol. not very money saving hehe.. seriously i thought it was a joke .. i was so annoyed i had to leave it for my sanity. Ive learnt today to leave them on, get a coffee if need be and have a break and avoid the 45minute ones lol :)

It was 1500 points for 3 hours of survey which I think was actually 9hrs in total, or it felt that way. But that means almost £15 in amazon vouchers, and the ones that say 10mins are normally about 5 mins with mysurvey so balances out. I was just sat there thinking "but it'll make the kindle cheaper"

GTM surveys drive me potty though because you spend ages doing one just to get thrown out argh. I've installed the mysurvey connect thing onto my personal laptop so I got loads of points for doing that, I don't do anything naughty so don't mind them collecting data.

I'm off to sports direct in a minute for a tennis outfit for tomorrows house party :) then I'm going home to maybe a chinese dindins to celebrate payday and that'll be my one chinese for the week. I'm soooo impressed that I haven't bought anything today (other than lunch). It really is a first to not be skint already (although I am because I'm moving house next week, but that's a different matter).

dfw mysurvey are really good, I don't think I've bowed out of any of theirs without some form of points yet :) 5 if you bow out too quickly and after 3-4 q's they tell you if you qualify.

I am soooo proud of myself this evening. I went looking for a tennis outfit to wear the the fancy dress party tomorrow and landed on oxford st, couldn't find what I wanted in sports direct so went to a different one, couldn't find anything in there but tried a few things on. Nothing fit properly but I was sooo convinced I needed something now that I spent about 45mins in there before convincing myself that I a) couldn't afford it b) would never wear it again.

Walked towards Bond st and saw Jane Norman 25% off, spotted a nice dress tried it on in 2 different colours, then had a tall word with myself saying that £35 is too much for something that I have in a slightly different neckline already.

Walked out and down to John Lewis, went to the haberdashery dept and convinced myself I needed something that made fabric into flowers and some poppers. Walked round the fabric, decided I was only buying for the sake of buying. Started to feel glum so went and got on the tube. Another person under tonight :( Baker St this time, not far from where I was on Oxford St. I actually said "awwww :( " outloud on the escalator when the tannoy announced it, so sad.

Got off the tube went and got my lemon chicken with egg fried rice, no prawn crackers as I waste most of them. £6.20 job done :) Soooo proud that I didn't spend on all those temptations I just had to have!

  • Oh no, I can't believe that there has been another one on the tube this evening :-( Have you worked in London long, is this a normal occurrence or is this just a sign of the bad times that we are in at the moment.

Well done on managing to refrain from purchasing anything :o I love chinese, I am trying to lose half a stone at the moment so it wouldn't help my waistline, (or my purse) but I love crispy duck :D

How much have you got saved towards a kindle? I really want one but Mr Itsa said no :( I know he is right, I have an ipad with a kindle app, and two bookshelves full of books that are not read yet and so in fairness he said I don't need to be buying anymore books at present, but I just love technical gadgets :p I am trying to think of ways at the moment to raise funds to buy an ipod touch :p Now in years gone by, I would have just bought one on the credit card and worried about it later, but I am thinking about what I can sell to get the cash to buy one instead.
    Just keep swimming!

Thanks both of you, can't believe it's payday and I've only spent about £10 on myself (although all on food but oh well). Need to check receipts for totals.

I think it's the time of year for it, christmas is a lonely time for those that have noone and when you can't afford all the things that the media tells you that you have to have to be happy it can be really depressing. I've been in London just over a year and I've heard quite a few one under announcements, never more than 1 in a month though let alone a week :(

itsadogslife if you want a kindle then I recommend doing the mysurvey surveys. I've been doing it for just over a month and earnt £25 from them, so you'll get a kindle in no time. Or use the vouchers towards a touch. I'd be lost without my touch but wish I'd saved up for it instead of buying on credit tsk tsk.

I've eaten half my chinese and will have the other half for brekkie so a £3 meal :) I need to try to find my sweat shorts as decided they'll do for my costume tomorrow, turquoise sweat hotpants and a white vest top. Venus Williams eat your heart out teehehe. Time for some tv eye candy of more TVD hehehe

  • Just been reading through your diary.
I'm so pleased that you're doing well :)

I've got a couple of questions, that aren't really related to your debt (hope you don't mind!).
I've seen people saying that they have subscribed to this thread (I'm presuming so they can catch up easily?!) How do you do that?! Also, how do you join the MySurvey site? I've been wanting to join one for ages but am a bit scared and I've read really good reviews about that one.
