My last dog a Welsh Springer Spaniel, used to like/dislike some really odd things.

She hated the cardboard rolls inside of toilet or kitchen rolls, if she got her paws on one, she would shrd them in double quick time. She was fine with other types of cardboard though.

Her weird likes? She was a bit of a wino, if you left a glass of wine she would knock it over and lick up the spillage. She learnt pretty quickly that she got told off for licking wine from the glass.

She also loved yoghurt -the sight of her going cross eyed trying to get the last bit out of the bottom of a pot is an image I will treasure for ever.

    ***Gross Alert***
If she could get hold of them, she loved chewing knickers and panty liners. No, I've never worked out why.
    ***Gross Alert Over***

    I miss her.
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!
  • Great thread! Thanks for all your pet quirks.

I have had two cats that were crazy for pears, and one also for cooked peas. One that would come for the sound of tin foil (hoping it was chocolate) !
One of our current cats loves a slice of ham - not to eat but to carry round the house like she has caught a mouse, toss it around from paw to paw (ham juggling?) and eventually discard under a bed - so I don't give her any

We had a sock stealer, used to raid the wahsing basket and leave a trail of them just when visitors were due!
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow
