What strange things do your pets like or dislike?

Peaches my baby cat likes blackcurrant squash, carrot & sweed mash and sweetcorn. Also rolling around on a freshly mopped floor.

She doesn't like mint sauce or Lilt. You should see her face when she gets a whiff of either!

What strange likes/dislikes do your pets have?
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

  • My Border Terrier Truffle loves cooked mangetout, sugarsnap peas, runner beans and carrots, he eats these before he eats any meat that is in his dish. He dislikes black bin bags.:D

My cat hates anything that rustles especially carrier bags, she ran past one when she was small and caught her head in the handle and we spent ages trying to catch her speeding around the house convinced that it was chasing her.

One of the dogs hates bacon and we used to have a cat that was partial to stealing gin if a glass was left unattended

Something similar happened with a black binbag, I realised I hadn't put my rubbish out as I was about to take the dog out for a walk, so I put one bag on his lead to keep him still while I took the other ones over, he ran after me closely followed by the bin bag. He can't even walk by one now.
  • Now Peaches loves a carrier bag, she always sits in one when I empty the shopping out...

I have a Maine Coon who is the Labrador equivalent of a cat. Nothing is safe. He scavenges from neighbours recycling bins - but not just for meat etc. I regularly find bread crusts, burgers buns and pizza crusts outside my door. If a frying pan or baking dish isn't washed up immediately after use, he will be licking it clean. He steals the dog's kibble. Baked beans. Biscuits. Weetabix. At the weekend I heard a suspicious crunching sound from the worktop, only to find he'd helped himself to a meringue nest from an opened box!

I had a lineolated parakeet with a broccoli phobia. Once I put some in her cage and she refused to go to that part of the cage even after the broccoli was removed

My dog hated tea towels, dancing, eating out of her food bowl, and the sound "whi-choo" (like a whipping air sort of sound)

She loved bubbles and being wrapped totally in a towel after a bath, then being left like that to dry :)

A lot of cats I have had loved sunflower or olive oil spread. One loved raisins, to the point that she got the squits because she stole so many from an open bag of nuts and raisins.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)
  • Kiwi and Peaches both like to drink bath water, usually while I am in the bath.
