:hello: fuddle, nice to "see" you back
I'm glad DH has a car which is sorted
As for selling your car, think of how much you'll save in tax/petrol/upkeep. If me and DH didn't need two cars, we wouldn't have them!

This thread is so quiet
It's not going to be a NSD for us today - we're off out for tea tonight with a friend which I'm very much looking forward toit'll be good to have a catch up and not have to cook
How is everyone doing finances wise? Petrol at the moment is really draining on our budget, but not a lot we can do about it at the momentI'll have to update my sig too, that figure is out of date now...

I am here on holiday in North devon. Just found some wifi. checked on the banking. Yipee the child benefit and child tax credits are in, and still have one more week of the tax credits run on. So that is brilliant. Means that I dont need to touch the savings for the spends here.!
Havent spent a lot, days at the beach for dGD are free. Except for the car parks.
Most of the food we have brought with us. But BF has bought us meals twice. We have have had an icecream once, and drinks out twice. So not alot spent. Around £27 for me.! As I had brought £160 with me I am thrilled. We go home tomorrow. So I will have funds left for sure.!
Will catch up with the thread when I get back, My battery is running low on the laptop. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Mojoworking wrote: »Hi, I'm a long time lurker on this thread - please can you explain the necklace cork board and how you pin to it - is it literally the drawing pins with the plastic bits? Where on the wall does it look best - as I was trying to sell it down at radiator level so it wouldn't be in the way ... I'm really intrigued - plus the earrings - I can't imagine what a folding screen looks like - sorry to be a nuisance but I think this is the answer to my knots of necklaces in the drawer - thank you in advance x
Sorry for the late reply - had a busy week! Yes the pins are the push pins with plastic bits.
The folding screens for earrings look like this - mine has over 100 pairs on it.
A tip, if you buy a cork board knock in some push pins along the top edge of the wooden frame for any heavy necklaces that you may have. Unless you buy a very thick board the weight of the heavier necklaces may pull out the pins.
It's at a little higher than radiator level on the wall next to the bed and behind the screen with earrings, sitting on my bedside table.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Happy to report a NSD here today. I haven't looked at my budget like I planned today but I have a target for grocery shopping.
My priority is paying off as much as I can of the heating and electric. I'm actually quite worried about it but it happens every winter.
I cannot wait until my children are both at school and come September I will cope just fine through the day without the heating on. I just wish my family would harden up so we could save a bob or two.
Next year I want to enter winter without a deficit. The only debt we have and I feel somewhat bitter about it.0 -
Hi everyone - I am happy to reprt that finally my new found frugalness is paying off. For the first time for ages I feel more in control of my finances and boy, does it feel good!! lol. Been frugal for quite a while now and absolutely hate to pay full price for anything now. Don't think I will ever go back to my old ways - when times have been tough you sure begin to appreciate a few good things more and also what is more important - health, family etc. I seem to get more pleasure when I do manage a small treat now and again. Hope I don't fall off the wagon again any time soon. Hope evryone is enjoying being frugal - :T:T:T Well done to all of you who are doing a good job.0

Forgot to mention - I deceided that we 'needed' some new bedding and bought some to give our bedrooms a makeover. Beautiful though it was I kept looking at it and thinking what else the money could have paid for. I am so proud of myself because I sent it back and will receive credit for it. I then took a tip from Sandra Scarlett and looked at some fabric I had - I am now the proud owner of some bedding that I have revamped having added some gorgeous rose patterned fabric in stripes and if I say so myself, it looks lovely. And all at no cost other than some time to do.0
