    :hello: everyone :)

Today the weather has been horrible :( been into town briefly, but that's about it. Had some lovely salmon for tea with chips and salad and about to have some strawberries and raspberries in a mini meringue.

Has everyone had a good day?

:jHi Slowly. I've had a brilliant day thanks. Not frugal I know but OH has bought me a Honda Jazz!!!!! He's changed his job and hours and as we share the car we already have it would have meant I'd be without one.
I have to pay for my own insurance and petrol but I feel very lucky. We've been looking at cars these past few weekends and saw this one yesterday. Sorted out the car insurance today and it's sitting on our drive :j Of course the frugal part is, when OH is in I'll be driving his car and saving my petrol :)
Mmmm your desert sounds delish. I've been craving cake all day. Think it's the grim weather.
Rising I'm sure the table would suit your needs and doesn't take up any room at all when folded. They also have some gateleg tables at Ike* You can see them on their website.
    Hope everyone is keeping warm

I've given my blinds another coat and I'm so pleased with the result. :j The Mojo Jive blinds, a 5 feet and a 3 feet one, would have cost a ridiculous amount to buy, and there was nothing wrong with my existing ones, except they looked tatty, but the mechanism was fine.

I've really got this make-do-and-mend bug but apart from the money saved, it's made me feel so good to try new things, and to get such good results.

We have good weather ahead this week, apparently, so I'm giving anything washable a good launder.:) Have a good week everyone.

yeah me too Sandra, I cannot wait to see that washing line in full use.

A NSD for me today, although no yesterday as bought paint and decorating stuff.

DD's been cooking some goodies for packed lunches next week. I intend looking at no-bake recipes though as the oven has been on far too long this afternoon.

Aww thanks huni. I know it's not thrifty and I wondered if I should post it on a thrifty thread, I didn't want it to sound like a brag, but it made me happy and we do share in each others special moments on here, don't we, so I posted.
    :D
Can't believe it's Monday tomorrow already! It's been quite warm today for a change and the weather is set to get warmer as the week goes on. Just what we need :j
    Hope everyone is ok

Quick post before I go catch up.
My cousin had her twin babies on Friday, 2 months early! A bonny wee boy: Lucas 3lb 14oz, and a gorgeous wee girl: Peyton, 2lb 2oz. I don't have much more details than these. All 3 (mum included) are doing well.
Instead of doing blankets for all the babies this year, I have learned to make bouquets of flowers using baby clothes, florist wire and tape, and they look rather good. I'll post a pic when I get a good one :-)

Dizzy, Congrats on the new car!

I am also a big fan of layers. Especially after that winter with no heating. Our local Millets (outdoor/camping type shop) had a sale on, I got son thermal vests, long johns, t-shirts for next winter. Best clothing buy was certainly a fleece zipper with a hood, he wore it on top of his pyjamas every night, and if I forgot it, he would ask for it. Fluffy or woolen socks are a must too! And if u have wooden/laminate flooring, using a glue gun, put a few squidge's on the sole to stop you sliding everywhere. Hot water bottles are a must! And a wooly or fleecy hat.

Apparently we are getting great weather this week, everything is getting washed and dried outside... its days like these I wish my son was in nappies, I loved seeing them hang on the line :-)

We made a start on cutting the grass tonight, and some lovely person had left a stone in my garden, not big enough for me to notice, but big enough that it has damaged my lawnmower. Not happy at all.

I had other things I was going to comment on, but I'm really tired now, so off to bed ...

Rising, Congrats on your new pet :-)

DL - missed it before coz I skim read too quickly but congrats on the new car. When you spend all your efforts being frugal its nice to have something unfrugal (but necessary) now and again. I have just 'spent' some of my Mr T vochers on a couple of treats for myself. So unfrugal but frugal really as I didn't have to actually spend cash IYSWIM.

Lola lemon the wee babies sound gorgeous. Know what you mean re the nappies - I'm the same with bedding etc . Think we need to get out more but its nice all the same.:):)

Ooooo, 2 lovely new babies at once!!! Congratulations LL, and let's hope they're soon thriving and piling the weight on. They must look like little dollies! My DGS was premature and only weighed 4 lbs, but was sent home after a few days - and he's 4 now, and a right little tub!!

I feel like doing cartwheels when I look at my blinds. :T The 3 stiffener sessions were just right, and my cousin who visited today, has decided to do the same thing, as she thought mine were shop-bought and very expensive.

I washed both lots of bedroom curtains today, and DD hung them, and they look fine, without needing ironing, ;) so it's the lounge ones tomorrow. It's going to be hot, hot, hot until at least Sunday apparently, so a chance to give all the spare bedding a good wash and blow too.

Congratulations on the new car, Lizzie - may you have many happy miles of driving, and I think petrol is destined to drop in price dramatically, due to a price war.

    xx
