Your good vibes must have worked. I just went to check the bankbalance, something I do everyday!:o and Yeah! The DWP have paid me 3 different payments, that total around £500!!!:T:T havent got the paperwork yet so dont know the ins and outs of it, but it means that I can pay the rent for this week and next, and still have my savings for the holiday next week. I feel really lucky today.!!
    Woohoo! :j :j

I ended up having a NSD yesterday, and intend to have another one today!

Who's stolen the sun? It's so cold, rain-y and miserable here today :(

Have a good day everyone :)

Good excuse for housework :j and crafts :)

    Woohoo! :j :j

    So happy for you MooLoo...connie_1.gif

Spent £4 something in Mr. S today when I only meant to spend £1.18 on milk. Was so tired and hungry had to get a shop sandwich (easiest way to burn pounds) and like then I spied a steamed pudding when I was oogling or debating biscuits. Nuff said. Anyhow think I may just see if I can find a biscuit tub and like invest in cheap digestives (my fav) to avoid a repeat :j

Only bit of good news is that I went on the hunt (when very tired) for cheap bread. Got some for 80p from the local corner shop :)...Yay. :A.....

Recovering from my bout of tiredness and being unwell faster than my overdraft LOL

Maybe I should put that on my sig? :rotfl:

Sandrascarlett - thanks for the info. When I pick up a bit I will try to find the ebay seller you mentioned - my sofa needs recoevering which I can't afford atm but you have given me hope and inspiration with your fantastic efforts. Do you have a blog where you could put your before/after projects? It would be really great to see the projects in the flesh so to speak. Anyway, well done you:T:T:T:T:T

Sandra, those 'new suite' comments, go you! Also Happy 65th for Monday. I was born the day after your 11th birthday.
Mooloo, I have Been There with the DWP, thankfully in Nov 2009 I got a teaching job that is continuous. I'm paid per student rather than salaried or hourly paid but at least I don't have the hassle of trying to claim JSA in the holidays.
Thrifty Sister and Erme, I'm blaming the weather, though I'm not feeling ill, seeing sun instead of rain would give me a lift...

My final day of the Live Below The Line food challenge. I decided to spend an hour or so on the Net before breakfast (a mixture of work and play) to delay brekky, which will either be Value coco-pops or porridge. Lunch will be the competition prize pasta and pesto again, or perhaps I shall splash out on a few pennies worth of tomato ketchup.
I used to love pasta with ketchup when I was small, it was usually spaghetti as other pasta wasn't really available back then, apart from macaroni.
Which has largely disappeared now, other than in macaroni cheese...

The Live Below The Line challenge has finished now (living on £1 a day) and I've completed it without cheating.
I've made a few frugal food discoveries - carrot and orange salad with sultanas added is really nice and you can stir-fry grated sweet potatoes.
It also increased my admiration for Kath Kelly, who lived on £1 a day for a year, and that included toiletries (all Value products) and clothing (jumble sales).

Had to have another cortisone injection on Friday. Thumb flared up again like it did last year. Hope it calms down soon.
Planned a baby shower for DD and we had it yesterday. It was so funny. DD said it was perfect which made me feel lovely.
Just pottering on, which is ok by me.
My it's soooo quiet on here these days. Maybe we're all just busy doing our thrifty stuff slowly but surely :)
