Hope everyone had a good weekend. Quiet here, but my bedroom looks nicer as I now have a cork board fixed to the wall with most of my necklaces pinned to it. They look really decorative displayed like this and I can find the 'right one' quickly. The earrings, many of which match are displayed on a folding screen
Huge chunk of below half price pork shoulder roasted beautifully for tea. My son served it really nicely. Go him. Now to get him to cook it, too....Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Morning!
Monday always seems to come round so quicklyI think I'm going to need lots of coffee this morning to keep me awake...!
Nothing much happening in the SF household at the moment. We had a pretty busy weekend visiting various people, but we were fed whilst we were there so that's saved us some in food bills. I'm attempting to use lots of things from the storecupboard for meals this week as we have lots of bits and bobs need using up - like ends of the packet style stuff.
Have a good day everyone!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Hi, I'm a long time lurker on this thread - please can you explain the necklace cork board and how you pin to it - is it literally the drawing pins with the plastic bits? Where on the wall does it look best - as I was trying to sell it down at radiator level so it wouldn't be in the way ... I'm really intrigued - plus the earrings - I can't imagine what a folding screen looks like - sorry to be a nuisance but I think this is the answer to my knots of necklaces in the drawer - thank you in advance x0 -
It may be raining, but the sun is shining for me, cos I'm having such a lovely birthday! :j DS in California, sent me a river cruise for 2, including lunch, so I've booked that for next month. I've had about 45 cards, and lots of visitors, and we're going to DD's for dinner tonight. One of my lovely friends has made me the most beautiful bracelet, crystals with gold links, and I'm so thrilled because it must have taken ages to make, and a lot of patience.
DD bought me a solar powered butterfly, and though we haven't any sun today, it is whizzing round and a pleasure to watch.
If I was able to upload photos, I would have done befores and afters, of my recovered suite, but in any case, I'm so thrilled with the result.
Going to eat one of my other gifts now, some Green & Blacks assorted choc bars!

It's definitely a morning where coffee is needed... :coffee:
I'm aiming to have a NSD today. I've bought leftover for lunch with me so I don't need to buy anything for that. I've also got some fresh pineapple chunks and a banana in the hopes that I won't be tempted by the chocolate digestives in the office...!
Have a good day everyone :hello:Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Hi everyone.
DH now has a company car with upkeep and diesel paid for. It's such a relief I can tell you so now we're going to sell my/our car. It means no transport through the day but that's ok as I'm a stay at home mum and don't need it. I'm used to it anyway as DH used to use the car for work.
So that means a whole lot of outgoings and expense gone and that is brilliant. We're using it as a chance to save more.
I've tried to become more and more frugal over the past few years. The truth is I go about it all too strongly and lose my way very quickly. I'm keen but need to slow down. I have learned a lot but I've had to come away from MSE and frugalness of late as I felt money was controlling me and not me controlling it.
I'm back though, albeit it calmer and steadier.0
