Still busy trying to sort out the house in readiness for my birthday party on Saturday.
Need to get cooking Friday.
I had to get the doctor out for my neighbour on Sunday and she is now in hospital.
I visited her Monday and will pop down today - I really hope someone from her family has managed to visit her now! Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

On a sad note my son's cousin was killed in a motorbike accident a couple of weeks ago - only twenty one with a baby.
It was my son's birthday that day.
It's his funeral tomorrow. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

But young men think it is,

What sad news ruby. Such a young age too, and with a little one. So sorry for you and your family.

Just received my car insurance renewal from T*S*O and was surprised to find that due to a change of address the price had increased by £115 to £385.
Had a look through the comparasion website and could get it down to £320 for the same level of cover, could get it cheaper but would of lost some of the levels of cover.
I then phones T*S*O to say that I would not be renewing with them as I could get the same cover cheaper, they went through all my details keeping the cover the same and the price was reduced to £321 saving £64 on the renewl quote. I asked how they could do this and was told it was a "special discount".
The moral of the story is to shop around but still go back and try your original insurer, BUT NEVER PAY YOUR RENEWAL PRICE.:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:jNSD 12, SAVING ALL MY CHANGE FOR HOLIDAY SPENDS - SO FAR £23.96:j0 -
Sandra - I use a heavy duty staple gun for upholstery that I got from Wickes. Can't remember how much it was but its coped with seat covers & a headboard perfectly well. Its quite powerful - packs a punch. Well done too for all your redecorating - gold star!!

Thanks for that, I have a Wickes nearish to me, and shall invest in one next week. I think I might be pregnant .................. I seem to have nest building feelings! Blimey, I'd make a fortune if I was, 65 next month, no womb for 29 years, DH had the snip 42 years ago, and not a lot of what Queen Victoria referred to as "fun"!!!
Our bathroom vinyl cost over £100 to supply and fit - 13 years ago, so I bought some from ebay on Monday, which looks like planks of beech-coloured wood. It cost me £35, including nearly £10 postage, and arrived this morning.
So I pulled up the old stuff, laid it face down on the new stuff, also face down, stuck the coffee table in the middle to weight it down, drew all round it with a pen, to get the pattern, cut it out with kitchen scissors and ............... voila, it look brilliant!!!:j
It took ages to push the edges around the pedestal part of the basin, and it was a bit of a struggle round the loo base, but it looks wonderful, and fits perfectly. I am so chuffed!
I have a day out tomorrow in London, so I'm looking forward to that. One of my friends has a 25% voucher for The Strand Palace Hotel for their set lunch, which I've enjoyed before - 3 courses and as much tea or coffee as you want for £16, so it'll only be £12. :T
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
