Erme, I suffer from Nightmares most nights. Its really disturbing and sometimes I think I am worried about going back to sleep.

I am frustrated that my excel spreadsheet that I spent yesterday morning updating will not open. Either Excel is not responding, or the file is corrupt. Grr. what a waste of time.

Try a freebie spreadsheet program or like something as back up....Like libre office or open office? always good to have back up on these things....

Hope everyone is well...have probs with blood sugar that could be thyroid don't know and still in buying '101' handbags mode ...also praying that ebay goes well this pm and I sell stuff :D the juicer has already got a bid on it and 9 watchers - other stuff 1-3....Hope things go. I just need to clear my kitchen out...Literally gadgets and boxes everywhere

    Hi all

Sending hugs to those that need them

Budget gone a bit AWOL this month. Popped to local m and s ad they had reduced their sale items to really low prices, so got some bits for Xmas as some items I buy ever year anyway. Also have quite a few babies due in family this year so got some bargain baby clothes for gifts.

Payday next week, glad I'm working all weekend!

Hope you all got nice plans for Easter!

    SJ x

these turn out really well http://www.free-crochet.com/detail.html?code=FC00809&cat_id=477 and only take about an hour to make...they are like soooo cute...not much wool and would be fab for babies. Just a thought...I made them for my psychologist when I finished with him and his wife was expecting their second and he was sooo touched....worth doing...

Anyhow going to need a big push if I'm to get debt free by mid may. Beginning of may must phone up N* to see if there's a cheaper final settlement figure on the loan?

Then 101 things to buy with savings...like service the kenwood chef; get a new shower; get a workman/friend to take off the toxic tiles; get a new carpet and sofa; possibly new washing machine (I know I've gotten through a lot) etc etc and I want at some point to start giving Ma a little monies as like she only has state pension etc to live on and a car to run (and DS does demand that she pick her up from the station - not the nearest - 1 hour away - when she visits). I know what monies I shall be on and I think it's just right and proper to give Ma money once a month - even if it's just £50. Just to help her. Though I shall pay for it with her moanings etc and her general nonsense which I have to support her with (and that makes me unwell cos it's sooo draining )

Lola, just to say like many others here, you are in my thoughts. I too cannot believe a year has passed since your friend and her son died.

My place looked so dingy, but alas DH can no longer do decorating, and he is very anti "getting a man in". So last week I painted the bathroom ceiling, something I've never done before, then I washed all the tiles, and painted the door frame, and this week, I've painted the kitchen ceiling, washed all the walls and cupboards down, painted the little bit of gloss, painted the hall ceiling, walls and gloss, all except the doors, which I'm doing tomorrow and Monday:j:j:j

We have a sort of anaglypta paper on all the walls, so it's an easy-ish job, and B & Q had a 3 for 2 offer on their paint. I am so chuffed with myself. :T:T:T

I shall do the 2 bedrooms next month, and the lounge in June, then the whole place has been smartened up. It's amazing what a "girl" can do when she sets her mind to it! All my seedlings are coming along nicely, but isn't it cold!

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter.

    xx

Hugs Lola, what a really sad time for you.

I made a little frugal discovery this week when looking in dismay at the quality of the Value coleslaw I'd bought (swimming in dressing, very little carrot) I thought of adding finely grated carrot and finely chopped onion to soak up the extra dressing.

I kept grating and chopping till the excess dressing was used up and had tripled the amount in the end- there was enough for lunch the following day as well. :money:

Igamogam, I'm glad you liked my trike story :D

  • Well, have spent a considerable number of hours :o re-organising my savings pots and trying to combine some of them.

I was up to 2 accounts (main & household bills) and 8 pots but needed another 4:o - I've had big problems in the past of *raiding* when money is sitting in one "big" account so want to avoid that at all costs!

And - I also want to be able to keep track of each individual budget too ..... so, anyway, after the equivalent of a full working day :o (what a way to spend a day off:rotfl:), I'm down to the 2 accounts & 4 pots:j :
    • House & Car (all annual insurances, landline rental, car costs, emergency fund)
    • Pets (have kept these separate for years so want to keep this)
    • Anything else (clothes, hair, dentist, presents etc)
    • Savings (for my weekly round-down)
I also have 3 new spreadsheets set up with a totals page and an individual worksheet for each budget - fingers crossed it works:eek:

Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter:D

Thank you all for your kind words. This Friday is the funeral, same day as the anniversary. The girls have a whole day planned, flowers at the cemetary, then a trip to a butterfly sanctuary, Donna's fav place. I'm going to be missing it.

My avator has been changed to my Katy Perry impression lol.

Money wise, I took son and a friend to xscape , where we went for lunch (£42) I brought a cake and they brought it out after dinner. Then went and played crazy golf (£21 for 2 adults n 2 kids) . The boys had a great time, then took them to collect eggs from his sisters chickens, (she's on holiday) .
Heading to bed now, just got to leave out some Easter eggs.
    Have a good one everyone

Catching up again as been busy with 'stuff' but been trying to lurk when poss. Hope evryone ok - Lola ((hugs)) - kinda puts everything in perspective doesn't it? You can become so bogged down with your own problems and then realise things like this happen. Hope the little girl is still recovering well.
