just noticed this in the news centre - rebranding of value range @ t***oEmma :hello:0 -
I'm feeling like the woman in the Digital Tv advert!:( I took DGD out this morning and left DH watching a very cultural programme ............... Jeremy Kyle!:rotfl:
Then when I got home, about 12, he said that he'd turned the TV off after Jezza, then put it back on about 11.30, to find sound, but no picture.:( Today is Digital changeover day in our area.
I telephoned the digital changeover place first, who couldn't help, then the TV supplier, cos it's under a year old, and he said they would come and fix it ............ after the holidays.:(:( But it would be free. :T
I gave DH my laptop, and managed to get Deal or No Deal on it for him - I have no idea why he watches it avidly - but it kept cutting out, though at least it was something. Then I managed to get the football on ITV for him, and sat here reading, surrounded by the stench of burning martyr.;)
He is not going to be a happy Easter Bunny this weekend! Hope everyone has a lovely Easter. I gave up bread, and my twice a week baby bar of dark chocolate for Lent - and I've lost 8 pounds!!! :j:j:j

Hello everyone
Thought I better check in before I enter a new decade on Saturday!
Frugality has gone completely out the window of late it would seem and I had to confess my sins on the no spending thread.
I had my hair cut last week, treated myself to a pair of converse and a miracle hand cream from Neals yard.
£10 in Oxfam and I bought myself a steamer!
What a miracle it is it is transforming my life - stuff that was encrusted before I even moved into this house which I never had a hope in hell of removing has vanished!!!
I am busy steaming my house from top to bottom in readiness for my party the following week - well I was but it started leaking so it's going back and a new one is coming today.
Anyway I have been very naughty and have had to deplete my savings! Here dead we lie because we did not choose

However, buying my own and fitting them is a fraction of the price (less than half) that the local bike shop charges. I had fancy white wall tyres previously, but one of them had actually split along the white/black rubber divide. The inner tube was exposed but somehow I'd avoided a puncture.
So no more fancy tyres, but very rugged ones from Wilkinson's that should last me for a good few years.
The trike itself saves me a small fortune, for anyone who cannot ride a two - wheeler bike or has difficulty walking they are a really good idea. From mine I get exercise and have no need to use taxis for shopping or appointments locally, or to visit friends.
Mine has a luggage pannier on the back enabling me to carry a week's shopping at once - it's also carried home a coffee table, ironing board, PC, television and several hi-fi units in its time. Yes, I get a few smiles and odd looks when I ride it, but I also get independence and good exercise.
Thats fab:D:D:DBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Hi, I've been getting the MSE emails for ages, but have never posted anything in the forums, so thought this would be a good place to start.
In January I made my own exel budget sheets and I have been filling it in almost religiously! I have been putting small amounts in to savings (which has now just gone in to a deposit for my first rental property), but I do not think I have being frugal enough as I always find the last week or two weeks before payday absolutely skint!:(
I am determined to buy things in bulk or be as economical as possible. Even the vacuum I have bought has different suction levels to save eletricity! :rotfl:May Grocery Challenge : 64.81 so far

Sad news first. My uncle passed away last night. Only thing I can say is that he is no longer in pain.
Bad news. I spent a fortune yesterday.... its sons 5th birthday today, the guys are in building his new bed, he will be soon excited when he sees it! Has no clue that he was getting a new bed.
Happy news.... I've been with Mr Lemon a year now! People are going to be expecting wedding bells soon, as this is my longest relationship for years! Heck, its the only relationship in past 5 years!
Impending sadness, those from last year will most likely remember this. Next week is the one year anniversary of my beautiful friend Donna and her son Noah's death. Can't believe its been a year. Hannah is doing brilliant , like any other 3 year old, she will have problems for life, she has a tube in her belly that sticks out, but she is here, and that is what matters most!
Happy fugalling, and have a great Easter!

Hi Lola. So sorry to hear of your recent sad losses.
Has it really been a year since that dreadful tragedy?
Bless little Hannah. Times like this when we count our Blessings.
Rising have fun with the crochet lessons. Once you get the hang of it don't forget to go on here for some lovely crochet tutorials. Also it's just a fabulous colourful blog to read
Ruby have fun with the steamer
We've had a few days away in Wales. It was lovely to get away and recharge our batteries. Spending has gone adrift slightly but was well worth it.
Hugs
