Morning all to you frugallers - another thread I've only just 'discovered'. Been an MSE'r for over 4 years - shame on me lol Well, if nobody minds can I join in? My circumstances state that I have to become more frugal - health, personal etc and having read a few posts feel like I have a lot in common with you. :T0

morning all,
thick with frost and had -10 overnite around here apparently and it feels like it!!! the sun however is out at the moment but we are in the region expecting lots of snow:mad: love to look at it and take some photos but hope its not around for long.
So today i thought i had better get prepared for the weather, snow shovel and shovel out and at the side of the back door (last year DH had to climb throught 4 feet of snow to get out of the front door), i've cleaned out the wood burner relaid it brought in a well stacked basket of logs and filled the:mad: wheelbarrow with logs and that too is outside the front door with a plastic sheet covering it. phew. Off to get a dozen leeks out of the garden in a few minutes to make a huge pan of leek and potatoe soup and stick the bread maker on. looking at the frost i may have to snap the leeks out not dig them:rotfl:.Also had a request from DH for some scones for the wekend so will get them done shortly as well. be lovely with hm damson jam and marg and huge pot of tea later on when its cold.
Candles /torches wind up radio at the ready too as we almost always loose the electric for a while during heavier snow, phone charging as we speak and will leave laptop to charge so we can watch a dvd or use the web if power fails(oh has a dongle thingy so we should be fine). Weather expected to hit us after 3pm and all tomorrow morning.
Think i may try and get a brisk walk in this morning too mite be my only chance for a few days. Least i have no intentions/need to spend any money for the next couple of days.
hope everyone keeps warm and safe this weekend, good luck to all the house movers-hard work, stressful but also very exciting.sealed pot member no :0812011- £306.68 2012-£304.36 2013- £387.44 2014 - £441.43

slowly I moved 4 months ago. Our game plan was to do an hour each day of packing & cleaning and increasing it as the time got nearer. We did exactly the same when we got in our new place and within 2 weeks we were all unpacked and calm was restored xDF as at 30/12/16

I'm fine with the printable coupons but a lot seem to ask you to register / sign up / like on FB etc (is that me?) and I really don't want loads of companies having my address details in particular for letting me have a 30p off coupon.
Is it me that's "odd" in this respect?
I'm the same rising but if I have to register I make sure I tick the part that says no passing my details to other companies and up to now, touch wood, I haven't had anything flooding my inbox, so to speakslowlyfading wrote: »Morning everyone :hello:
I'm off for another wedding dress fitting this afternoon. I've lost a lb this week so I'm hoping that the effects of my weight loss are beginning to show - I want to look pretty!
Have a good weekend everyone
Have a lovely afternoon slowly. All the stress with the move will be over one day and it when you sit back all relaxed and calm in your garden in Summer with a glass of your favourite tipple, be it tea or a chilled glass of wine, you'll know it was all worth it
Snowing fairly thickly here now. Just hope it doesn't freeze over!
Warm hugs to everyone

Well it seems to have turned milder here atm but is lashing huge rain drops and windy .... still at least it's not snow!
Just back from having the tyres done - glad they're on as the car is def gripping better but my purse in feeling a lot lighter.
Have updated my sig with my spends but it will be looking out of kilter for a while as I've spent nearly £450 on the car in the last week  - but that should be it for the whole year now (touch wood).findingmyfeet wrote: »Candles /torches wind up radio at the ready too as we almost always loose the electric for a while during heavier snow, phone charging as we speak and will leave laptop to charge so we can watch a dvd or use the web if power fails(oh has a dongle thingy so we should be fine).

Sorry all, having problems with one of my columns in the totals sheet.
It's showing Red (overspent) even although it isn't?
I've tried several things to try to find out why - checked the formula's the same all the way down (it is), have tried inserting another row (and on the pages) but it still shows as overspent, and also tried increasing the budget figure to something massive and it still shows in Red.....

It's the SSPCA/Dogs Trust one .... any ideas?Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

rising from the ashes- last time we had a power cut the laptop battery was fully charged, DH plugged the V*daphone mobile dongle into the laptop and mobile internet started. the dongle he has is for work so he can use his laptop anytime anywhere, dont quite know how it works (not the slightest bit technically minded) but i do know he had to install it in advance then just plugs in and its away.
snow just starting here now glad i got all my chores done earlysealed pot member no :0812011- £306.68 2012-£304.36 2013- £387.44 2014 - £441.43
