Thanks for the hugs - much appreciatedany tips on how to not find moving stressful? Only my second time! Lots of stuff flying around :rotfl: I'm sure once it's done it'll be fine - the house we're moving to is bigger and has a garden so I am looking forward to it - even if I don't sound like I am!

As long as the kettle is the first thing to be unpacked at the new place, everything will be fine (I think I advised similarly the last time you moved). Hope it all goes alright and that you get settled in quick
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

A couple of tips from me:- Get a notebook, pen, sticky labels & marker pen
- Write the room it belongs to & a number on each box (use a sticky label with a number on for bags)
- Only put contents for one room into each box / bag
- Use 1 sheet of the notebook to every box / bag
- Mark down the box no and the room it needs to go in
- As you pack the box, make a quick list in the notebook of what's in it
As the removers (or you / friends etc) bring in the boxes / bags, tick them off on the list so you can check you've got them all.
For things I need immediately, I put together in a box and usually keep in the car with me - if you're not able to do this, I'd probably use the numbering system above but write "urgent" on the one you need to get into to get your bedding / towels etc straight away.
Same with the "essentials" Blairweech mentioned - I would keep these in the car with me and have things like the kettle but also cups (I did actually forget these once!), teabags, longlife milk, dishes, cutlery & pans & snacks for that night - something easy like a bag of pasta & jar of sauce so it's all handy (or treat yourself to a takeaway!) - also some cereal for the morning
Ohhhhh and that notebook is a bit like a spending diary .... it does not leave your sight!;)

Good Luck Slowly! Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.
