Hello frugal friends, Since I've stocked my freezers / pantry to start off the new year my goal is to have as few sd as possible. I have my menu made for the week and plan to have nsd. I need to make some homemade french bread, master mix for biscuits/pancakes/waffles, and homemade oatmeal packets cinnamon spice. I already prepared my sweet tea for the week and have plenty of milk, coffee, and water of coarse. I HOPE NO UNEXPECTED THINGS HAPPEN THIS WEEK. (FINGERS CROSSED)

I hope you mean as many as possible Moneybear!;) XHere dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

hi all pretty frugal day, had free lunch at mil, cut the kids hair ourselves saving us £14 and then we canceled sky which will save us £244 over the year
, was hoping to cancel hubbys mobile contract but he signed into a 2 year contract so has another 11 months to go  really could have done with savings £31 a month so were going to swap sims mine is a pay as you go but i use mine more than him (he never uses his) and i would use mine more if it had free minutes so that will save us abit i suppose, kids had value noodles for dinner-sunday teas are always something quick, i had a quick poke in the freezer and found some gammon for me and hubby i'm gonna stick on soon with some chips beans and eggs, i need to remeber t make something for the freezer for next sundays tea, maybe a mince pie or something effortless

Guys I must confesss.. I signed up to be frugal this year but so far it hasn't happened... I must confess my sins...
I have had a hair cut, bought a new ironing board and spent about £200 on new clothes for my placement in school. Eeek. BUT I am justifying this to myself by the fact that all the things I spent the money on are to help me look presentable on my placement therefore increasing chances of securing full time job if one comes up in this schoool..... anyone buying this excuse?!
Will try MUCH harder this week.
I plan to use the food I have in the cupboards this week so not spend any and plan a big shop carefully for next week so I can cook up big batches to use.
Sounds like you're all doing really well
Wish me luck! xxxx[STRIKE]7lbs to lose [/STRIKE]

Hi All, I am new to this frugal living and have joined this thread to help with support and advice in looking at ways to reduce my outgoings and really try to sort my finances out this year.
I wanted to say I have just placed my first order with Approved Foods which I found via the link on the forst few pages
I can't wait for it to arrive to see how I get on.
I have swapped my gas/electric saving over 29 per month and got rid of some sky channels to save about 10 quid there to.
I've started a big excel spreadsheet that includes the balances of all my credit and not just how much I pay so I can look at how much is left to go and I'm using the coupons and glitches where I can and have got my family aware and joining in where they can.
I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who takes the time to contribute on here. It's helped so much to give me focus and I'm sure will make my task much more achievable overall.
Thanks.2012 Challenge £1923/£12000Jan GC £BUST/£100 = FEB £0/£1500 -
