Yes I know what you mean about them wanting to sell you there own model and not having much knowledge about others! I have experienced that quite a bit.
So you spent about 3 months? oh well I don't feel so bad now! been looking about 6 weeks now, its just that its taking over my life at the moment...can't think about anything else untill I get this sorted. The trouble is with the costs of installing and the stove and everything else e.g. coal bunker etc. you want to get it right.
I am by no means a snob about these things and love a bargain.
My hubby has found this one but we can't find any reviews about it so not sure

They have this stove in the local suppliers.
It looks an utter tank in the flesh and is one of the ones they "push".
Which is odd as the shop and most of the area is in a smoke control area (and this model isn't exempt).

It didn't appeal to me personally, but i couldn't say i could see anything obviously wrong with it (i did have a play with it).

Only things i can remember about it were that i was concerned about the little side windows in terms of how easy they are to replace, liable to get damaged, and cost of the parts.

    They do look nice though.

Thanks for your comments alleycat. I don't know if I'm that keen on it. I don't think I like the little side windows myself. I think it was the price that was attracting my hubby!

One of the stove places i visited (one of the two i actually got a decent amount of info from) had an esse 8kw stove as their display model.

It looked lovely and i believes it can also be a double door (the display model was a single).

Slightly plain in looks but the window area was huge.

No idea what the price is like as it isn't smoke control and was too large for what we needed.

Have you looked at one of those at all? (hopefully i'm not making this worse).

Yes I have looked at that and it is quite a nice one, however sadly out of my price range for the multifuel version! lol
