its taken a while lol.. im sure im always quite grim at the start of the year
.. im cheerfull 99% of the time.
oooo how lush! i love cardiff :-) how very exciting.. yl have millions of friends down there lol0 -
So this flu is awful... has knocked me sidewards.. grrr but im sat up and i AM doing budgets!!
So ive taken the £3000.00 out of my current account and put into my savings account to join the ebay sales so i now have £3367.38 all for electrics..
I think this is the best thing to do because seeing it all in my current account makes me think i have this much money to spend!! The current account after the bills have come out will be left with around £400.00.. so atleast i have a budget to work to. OH's wages was awful this month because 2 weeks pay was goverment paternity pay.. so really have to pull in the purse strings.
This has given me my motivation back now to save save save.. and i now have to be carefull like everyone else.. the 3000.00 buffer was far too scary!!
Been having lovely cuddles with my son.. little lady is fast asleep.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.. any tips on easing a bad back would be much appreciated!:)
p.s with only £400 spare im too scared to transfer the £50.00 into my car savings and the £30.00 into the christmas savings fund. So what ever is left over at the end of the month will go in these pots first..0 -
Well i'm on form! i've done so well with the budgets.. and ive worked everything out. The big plan and goal has been set...... wait for it..... to have £9000.00 in savings by June:eek::eek::eek::eek:
I can do it!! and i will....:rotfl::rotfl:
The reason is.. i want the electrics done, but dont want them done and to be left el skinto.. with no savings and worrying. Plus maternity pay goes down to hardly nothing in July.. so i need back up savings as i dont want to go back to work until jan/feb 2013. So i am going to work really hard at it.. and write it here each month as i go along. Once electrics are done my next goal is my debts one by one im going to throw water on them and get rid of the little witches! I know debts should come first, but NOT when i see sparks.. get electric shocks and generally dont feel safe in my own home.:eek:
The water bill did not come out this month.. could be a miracle that ive paid it all..:j:j so will give them a bell monday.
For the first year ever i am upto date with my council tax which means at the end of the year i will get a break in DD.. not sure how many month's.
My mobile phone contract ends in May.. i'm not going to renew it, I will get a sim only deal.
I'm going to get on my feet again in the next month and have a poke around for some ebay stuff to sell. Just a few bits a week as i hate posting it all..
I have £100.00 worth of love to shop vouchers left to use
Also a cheque ive not cashed..That's another story.. infact I have 2.
OH's siblings are going to stay with me for 3 weeks while his mum and dad are away. His mum will leave me with food and money for them, but to make things stretch OH will pop down to Asda and get the 10p treats just so they feel they have had a lovely time. I got a me to you bear cake the other week valued at £10.00 for 10p :rotfl::rotfl: it was gorgeous! so thats the treats i mean..0 -
Totally agree that sparks are more important than debts, particularly as you've got young kiddies
Looking forward to seeing you finally getting them done10p treats for kids sounds fab

So today ive listed 5 things so far on ebay and on my local facebook group.. pretty much everthing ive ever listed on ebay has sold ..so I'm going to be a little bit more brave with the free listings.. they are free right.. so i have put items on for the price i would like for them rather than 99p.. and i will see how i get on. I'm not in a rush for the money and can keep re-listing on free listing weekendsthats how i think it works anyhow lol.. so would be nice to shift it and not be gutted that i've let it go so cheap.. will let you know how i get on hehe
you never know.. because ive listed shoes for £20.00 and they sold.. so will try my luck with other stuff..
:D

Ok so my best thinking is done at night... (its that time again:)
Ive been so very good, my back got better as the day went on so ive done as much as i could (nothing heavy).. ive given the kitchen a really good clean and de-cluttered an area by the window that just looked plain awful! I've done a weeks worth of ironing.. 5 loads or more lol..
I need help with something... i havent mentioned that i'm a bit of a hoarder!! I really find it very hard to get rid of stuff, ebay helps because i like cash. My problem is i have 6 massive black bag fulls of clothes from my son. He's 6 this year and they could be ebayed! BUT something in my head tells me to keep them for a future child. This is silly because i wont try for another for 2-3 years and I could have another girl. So what should I do? somebody help me.. shake me. Do people keep these things for so long?? :-S not sure if you can guess what im watching the end of? but it terrifies me to be stuck with loads and loads of stuff. At the same time my minds says its frugal to keep them in the attic as they are gorgeous clothes?? Help xx0 -

I sold everything from Cam simply becuase I was in a flat and didnt have a loft :rotfl: but no I sold everything bar his "favorites" like his first outfit, his first sleepsuit (I think I said before he was 4lb 7 born so they were tiny and something I wanted to save iykwim).
Although I then fell pregnant with lexi 14 months later :rotfl: but I dont regret selling Cams stuff I was glad in a way she had her "own" things.
This time Ive sold as she outgrows clothes and I still do for Cam. I plan to keep my cot though as my Dad bought it before he passed away and it was expensive and I doubt its something I could afford lol
Its up to you what you do but maybe keep back the most favourites and sell the rest?0 -
Thanks hidden, that really makes sense and i will do that with her clothes aswell... I have some gorgeous hand made vintage stuff which i will keep but the bulk standards can be sold. Also i hope to be debt free by time i have the next one so wont mind buying a few clothes..in fact thats the best part
) and it feels nice like you said to have there own things. Right nexts weeks mission..is to iron them into little sets and get them on there. I also thought any money gained could go into there savings.
Thanks for the advicexx
