Right uninstalled and reinstalled. My computer is showing the new hardware. The MP3 player says USB connect and battery full , but the software says device not connected. I thought Sony were a decent make!0

the mp3 players are actually pretty good but the software is a borderline joke.0 -
Did you use the software on the disk with the player. I downloaded the software from Sony website. Also, when you were trying to "find" the player you didnt have any other USB device (especially memory stick) plugged in. I remember somehting somewhere ther when you connect a drive to USB it assigned the next letter. If a drive was plugged in its given "E". If the players is plugged in separate it also gets "E", but if 2 "E" are connected it can cause problems.0

Oooo late thought. Are you logged on with administrator rights. The sonic stage software for a normal user is basically a music player. To burn to CD of TFR to MP3 player you must be logged on as administartor or at least run with admin rights0

Good point Mike, maybe a Sony/MP3 thing - native mode is ATRAC. If it shows up in Explorer, I'd be more inclined to just drag the MP3s into the folder rather than use Sonicstage (which works well for ATRAC ripping and device management by the way - I use it with a 20gb player and a couple of Minidisk units).0
