3 customer services don't see the irony in this!
To cut a long story short my wife is on 3 and the place where she works has zero reception inside and she has to go outside into the car park to make any calls or to use Facebook etc.
As I am the account holder I decided to phone up 3 customer services to find out if there was any issues at the postal code where my wife works to which they responded sorry sir that area has excellent coverage indoors and outdoors so I politely said I will check with my other half and see if it is indeed the case and if she was somehow mistaken.
A day or so later my other half said she got 2 voicemails from 3 whilst she was at work asking her if she needed any help with the issue I called them up about originally.
Ironically it went straight to voicemail because there is no signal even though they are 100% certain there is excellent coverage in that area.
Head bangs against wall trying to convince 3 customer services that the reason they keep on getting through to my wife's voicemail is because there is no service.
Definitely going to get my wife to leave 3.
In the meantime does anyone have any advice as to how I can progress with this as 3 CS refuse to budge.

So far I see only one fault of the '3' CS: saying that they have excellent coverage indoors. In fact no network guarantees any reception indoors because this depends on the building and many other factors.
Good luck with trying to leave '3' on these grounds.
Next time check reception in your places of interest before buying a long and expensive contract.0 -

When we took out the contract my wife worked in a different company with good coverage and our home was ok so hence the 24 month contract it only changed when she changed jobs.
3 CS did make me laugh when they said excellent coverage indoors as I had to query that a couple of times as I know no network guarantee's that so found it funny they kept on repeating the same line over and over again.
My wife is not looking at leaving 3 just yet just found it funny that 3 CS have no idea what they are on about.0 -
To be fair to them, it could be that the signal is strong enough to be fine indoors for 90% of the buildings in the area, but it will depend so much on what the specific building is made of and how deeply into it she sits. Plus, 3G signals don't tend to penetrate buildings as well as 2G signals and 3 has no 2G backup any more.0

Why does she need to use Facebook whilst working?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Very true and I do know a lot about coverage with 3g and the different bands etc so feel I am a fairly knowledgable chap when it comes to this so was just surprised by 3 CS response.
I know they are just doing their job just surprised me that they would say excellent coverage indoors in the first place and then voice mails every time they called was the bit I found ironic.
Even gone down the road a few times of buying various pay and go sims with a bit of data to check coverage in the places I frequent and my wife too so we know we are going to get good coverage in them places unfortunately you cannot check places where you have no reason to go or when you change jobs and work in a different area.0 -
All depends on were the masks are as well
Have a look on this map http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/search
my wife had the same problem were she worked but we found out it was the building that was the problem because outside the phone worked fine.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.

reception will also depend on the handset she is using.

My wifes also on 3 and she will get full reception with her phone.0 -

How 3, or any other operator for that matter, can tell how good reception is inside a building is beyond me! :rotfl::rotfl:Why does she need to use Facebook whilst working?
Are you her boss?0 -
