You know she is trying to rip you off!

So why continue trying to speak to her?

(And now you have written to her telling her she must pay you in full before you will look into her complaint, then no wonder she is keeping her head down!)

Just pursue the debt!

(If you get as far as issuing a summons, you can put in it you have made many attempts to contact her!)
• Before I set up my businesses I used to think that the prices of services and products were high but after time I realised that unfortunately a certain percentage of what the other consumers have to pay are to cover losses like this that the business has to occur. If possible I would try not to get too stressed about it, and protect yourself in future.

Any customer who messes about paying a deposit is likely to mess about come the final bill time.

Au contraire!

I object strongly to paying deposits, businesses can go bankrupt or "disappear" before goods/services are delivered. However I always settle bills promptly unless the goods/services are not up to standard or expectation and then I will pay when matters have been put right or an allowance has been made for the problem.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
;48702467]She can be as miserable and rude as she wants but I draw the line when the person sends abusive and threatening texts.

If you walked into tescos and started shouting and swearing at the staff, and threatening them, you'd get kicked out pretty quickly regardless of whether you had a legitimate complaint I assure you.
You only mentioned that she was not polite and made nasty texts. If the texts are threatening, that is a completely different matter.

A job for the police I would say. They are unlikely to do anything unless you have good evidence and are willing to press charges, but they will probably be be able to give you some advice.

Whats putting me off is its our word against hers. She can say I paid in full, we can say she hasn't. No proof.

Difference here is you allow the seller to put the problem right.

She would need the proof. Which she hasn't got, has she?

No. She hasnt even got a receipt for the £200 she has paid to be honest. But then again, I've got no proof that she hasn't paid either.

If it went to court, it'd be interesting to see what the judge would say.

You don't need to prove she hasn't paid!

Otherwise no-one would ever pay a bill!
• But then whats to stop someone taking you to small claims court for something you've already paid for?

Surely this is open to abuse too?
