Buyer being cheeky about feedback?
Comments

Well, looky here. Even an member of ebay staff thinks buyer should leave feedback first.
http://forums.ebay.co.uk/thread.jspa?threadID=400096882&start=0
I don't hold anyone to ransom. WHEN I KNOW THE BUYER IS HAPPY, OR THEY LEAVE FEEDBACK TO CONFIRM THIS, I leave feedback for them.
Feedback marks the end of a transaction. You want feedback for paying? Why? What have you done - click a few buttons and fulfil your obligation as a bidder? Big deal! The transaction isn't over! (Unless of course, you don't WANT your item)
Do you confirm receipt of your items? If not, you have no business whining about not getting feedback.
FEEDBACK is VOLUNTARY. (Read these words out loud repeatedly until they sink in)
(This post isn't directed at anyone in particular, but dear me, I'm so sick of threads where people say they should get a positive just because they paid. Try posting on the ebay Q&A forum, see how far that attitude gets you.)My TV is broken!

So say as a buyer I pay you in 5mins, and then you as the seller take 3 weeks to post it after stating one week delivery, and I leave you neg feedback because of this, your telling me that you would leave me positive feedback? I dont think so,buyers are worried about this happining after all

Not everyone is a crap seller. I wouldn't put myself in that position.windybottom wrote:who would want to do business with a buyer with negative feedback
Not everyone scours their bidders' records for negatives. It doesn't matter how many negs you have, you can still bid.My TV is broken!

I would. But then if I took that long to deliver something I would be willing to give myself a negative!buyers are worried about this happining after all

That very much depends on what is being bought. For example, I have sold nearly 8,000 items on eBay, and have never once checked a buyers feedback before the item was sold. Yet I will bet you everything I own that a good percentage of those buyers checked my feedback before buying.
Also, it can take a long time to build up a good feedback rating as a seller. As a buyer, should you get a negative on your first transaction, or a string of negatives that you think reflect badly on you and will prevent you from buying, you can set up a new eBay account within minutes with no affect on your business, your income, or your ability to buy.0 -

All I can say is that Fay shouldn't be allowed to trade on Ebay with that attitide. It stinks.
Windybottom you put an excellent argument across and I completely agree with you.

Sorry but what attitude?
We are all entitled to leave feedback when we fell the time is right, there are arguments for leaving it first both as a seller and as a buyer but ultimately it is up to the individual to leave feedback when they are comfortable.
If you don't want to leave feedback then fine, don't, however, don't moan if your opposite number also chooses not to leave feedback.

THAT YOU WONT LEAVE FEEDBACK UNLESS HE DOES FIRST.LIKE I SAID WHY SHOULD HE, WHAT MORE CAN HE DO,YOU GOT PAID WITHIN 5 MINS POSITIVE FEEDBACK SHOULD BE LEFT (WHERE'S THE TRUST)
MY FIRST POST WAS A REPLY TO DAZZIEBOO'S THREAD
I sell on Ebay to get rid of clutter in my house, not to boost my feedback rating, to be honest, feedback only worries me when a negative is left.
This is the first time in over 5 years of selling and buying on Ebay that a buyer has demanded Feedback be left, usually I will check my page in the evening, see if FB has been left, then do the same in return, if I have bought something, I will leave it straight away
At no point in my first post say I knew the buyer was happy, I don't know to this day if he was happy, he should have been getting a top up voucher for less than the value !! I feel Feedback should be left to the discretion of the buyer / seller and should never be asked for in the way I was asked for it, it is like people on here asking for the thanks button to be pressed !."Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0 -

You what?! Am I reading this right?? That is the most pathetic excuse I've ever seen put across.
The simple facts of the matter are that as a trader you are going to get good buyer's and bad buyer's. You can't pick and choose which ones you get. That is the risk you take in business. You are always going to get some buyer's that are NEVER happy no matter what lengths you go to to please them.
You do not leave feedback for your buyer because they are happy. You, as the seller, only have one "issue" with your buyer and that is how fast they pay. What other issues are there for you to comment on? None! Once they have paid then that's your end of the deal completed and you should leave them feedback commenting on your happiness in how quick and how they've paid. If it took them 2 weeks to pay along with 10 payment reminders then leave them negative!
The buyer, on the other hand, has 3 issues to comment on. Firstly the speed of delivery, secondly the quality of the packaging and thirdly the quality of the item. If they're not happy with any of those and leave you negative even though you disagree with their reasons then you have a 'reply to feedback' facility which you should put to good use.
Refusing to leave feedback until they leave it for you is the most pathetic thing I've ever heard of and is extremely unprofessional and un-business like. Consequently, any seller trading like that should be banned imho.
Furthermore, it didn't escape my attention that Fay conveniently avoided the actual question put to her about "if the buyer paid immediately but you took 2 weeks to send the item out and they left you negative feedback, would you still give them positive feedback?". And we all know that the answer to that one is "no" don't we? Hence why she avoided answering the direct question.
Absolutely pathetic. Trader's like her make me sick.
