  • This weeks updates to http://FatFingers.co.uk
    • New look website - easier on the eyes and works better with older browsers
    • Dropped the plurals rule - it was more confusing the useful
    • Added extra options to 'MyFatFingers' - the search you can add to your own site for free. Now this supports eBay.com, eBay.ca and eBay.co.uk. Let me know if you want any others.
Thanks for all the feedback, and keep it coming!

Hi - just a quick question...

Do you get paid every time someone clicks on the link to check for something on ebay? I'm not fussed, I'm just curious that's all...

    Keep up the good work!

    Shane.
  • Shane,

No, I get nothing when a click is made but eBay do pay me a few pence if a bid is actually placed.

This goes towards paying the professional hosting costs - my original web host kicked me off after a couple of days due to bandwidth usage (the original thread detailed this).

I still provide an affiliate free version for people who are having problems or don't want to contribute - the link is shown on the main page under 'Not seeing any eBay links or getting errors?' and is https://www.fatfingers.co.uk/NoAffiliate.aspx

It seems the fairest way to keep the site running - it costs the bidders nothing and I don't want lots of adverts or to charge people.

D'oh, that wasn't a sarky yeah I didn't realise there was a second page to the thread and was replying to Shane's post that it wasn't working. :-/
  • I think there was another problem around midday with my web host - it is definitely working now.

I'll start looking for a more reliable web host... ::)

Update: yes, there have been a couple of problems with my host - hopefully it has all been resolved and we should be back to a normal service.

I still have the option to move it - which is what I'll do if we have any more problems.
