Call of duty MW3 sainsbury's deal

hello everyone, just a quick question

i went to sainsbury today to take up the offer in this weeks email for the above game. there was a few boxes on the shelf and nothing to say that it was out of stock. i spent the £30 required for the offer but was told at the checkout that the game was out of stock and that it couldnt be taken up after because this was the last day of the offer.

ive written to sainsbury expressing my distress and am hoping they will give me a voucher or something. do i have a cat in hells chance or will i be shown the delete button and never hear from them again?

any comments welcome
thanks all
Rob

What type of voucher are you expecting?

They'll probably offer you a £10/£20 goodwill voucher, or Nectar points for you to spend in store - it is poor of them not to have marked that the game was out of stock.

That said, the offer was 'until stocks last', and did end today, so they don't need to do anything. You might just get an apology, depending on who recieves your letter, but I've always found Sains very good.

sometimes people go straight to the electrical desk & ask for the game instead of picking up a box and if the person serving was busy then they might not have had time to remove the boxes from the shelf and forgot about it.
  • Distress? Because a game was out of stock? Really?!

Yes geeks get very very upset when they cant sit down for 24 hours playing a new game.

There's something strangely ironic about logging onto an Internet forum at 3am to accuse another poster of being a geek......

I do see OP's point, they spent £30 instore on the proviso they would receive a discount on the game. Had Sainsbury's put up a sign or something to state the game was OOS then OP probably wouldn't have spent their £30 in that store.

How many other people have done the same thing? It is a bit naughty.

Perhaps you would have better luck getting to sleep if you weren't logged onto the computer at 3am just to insult a random poster.

Try lying in bed with your eyes shut.....

allow me to interject at a normal hour of the day

it goes back to a point i made not long ago ago over-dramaticising and exaggerating that goes on on this forum on an industrial scale to paint one's picture and create themselves a situation that perhaps isn't correct. one can hardly be 'distressed' by them not having a game in stock on the last day of what was clearly a popular offer. one is distressed at a car being stolen or by being beaten up, not not having something in stock in a shop.

i refer to the speaker that perhaps one is 'disappointed' at this situation and that you didn't go home and have a cry or let it properly ruin the rest of your day, as 'distressed' would suggest

the point i made to some soppy tart on here recently was that company X was making her life 'unbearable' because she hadn't stuck to terms & conditions laid down by said company. turns out she was radio rental and probably shouldn't have been allowed near a computer in the first place. i'm not suggesting the same here, but i am suggesting that you are using overly fruity language to get that 'woe is me' effect to put yourself in a better standing with the visitors of this forum (no matter what time of day they post) and with sainsburys

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)
