New IPhone4s help with contacts

Hi

Can you please help? I've searched in the forum and I can't find anything that covers this but probably missing it.

I recieved my Iphone4s today and I need to transfer my contacts from my HTC Desire to it, how do I do it? They are currently saved on sim and on googlemail I've tried various things that google have suggested and none work! HELP! please!

Which sim are they saved on? The large one or mini one?

If the large one, save to the HTC phone, put in your microsim (strategic placing for this) then copy to micro sim. Put sim in iPhone and in settings, mail contacts calendars choose import sim contacts.

You know you can transfer your contacts via gmail?

I've tried via gmail but its not working for some reason! My microsim is now working and can't use anything from android...
They are saved in large one and also on gmail but I can't get it restored

On the iPhone, open 'settings' --- 'mail, contacts, calendars' and under the 'accounts' header tap 'add account...'. Instead of selecting Gmail, choose Microsoft Exchange. Enter your email address. The username is your email address. You don't need to fill in the 'Domain' box. Press next. A new box will appear labelled 'Server'. In this box type m.google.com . Press done/next (whatever it reads!). You've get the choice of syncing email, contacts and calendars. You're probably best leaving them all switched on. Your contacts *should* now appear on the iPhone.

Are you sure all of your contacts have been synced to Gmail?

yeah definately did it earlier

Mystery gets bigger my numbers are in my google contacts but they won't sync going to leave it and try it tomorrow!

Got it done but have loads of people I don't want! how do I get rid of them?

Delete them off gmail and re-sync.
