Good I have also now, I have been thinking about it for weeks, but never get chance to do anything.
Still feel sorry for the people that will and have fell for this, I am in debt but I am not that bad to get caught by this one.
I really do feel sorry though, the kids are going to ask and then sing allong as you said and make the mother mainly feel soo bad!.0 -
According to other pages Littlewoods have changed their ads, but i've not been watching the TV so not sure if it's true.0

I don't have any small children as my youngest is now 15 so i'm fortunate that I don't have to answer awkward questions from little ones. I know Christmas is commercialised but this one is so blatant. Parents feel guilty enough without emotional blackmail like this.0

No I just saw it and it's the same old one, the same as what I heard on the radio, something about my mother gets me this and that...0

I agree with you, spot on jackieb:T0 -
Littlewoods has come under fire this week for its own festive advertising offering, which uses the line "Mum buys all the Christmas presents" (or something along those lines). Many parents have complained that their young childrens' illusions of Santa and his elves have been shattered by this rather tactless public admission that he doesn't, in fact, exist. Personally, I think they have a point. It certainly wasn't the brightest thing to put in an ad targeting parents with young children; what's the betting that the bright sparks at the ad agency behind the campaign are all in their mid 20's and don't have a child between them?
came across this online after a little google so complaints had been made, to be honest hadnt really though of the 'Santa' issue my kids are all older and past that stage (unfortunately!!) was more in the line of ...OMG how many mothers are gonna get into debt falling for thisOn the road to financial freedom.... one MSE penny at a time....:T0 -
'My mother's wicked!'
What about dad!
Scotslass, there's so much wrong with the ad. There are several issues that annoys me.0 -
Lucky that my daughter is only 3 and does not understand yet as I did not even think of that bit, I was just looking more at the guilt and cost but that is another good point!.0

Its a completely unrealistic advert, unless of course you're some sort of millionaire, theres a similar one on the radio, but Tesco also do that on their adverts, the Christmas one where they were buying nieces and nephews presents and I'm sure they were game consoles and phones etc.0

I can't believe half the adverts don't come under more scrutinty from the ASA...This particular one from Littlewoods really does wind me up though..thankfully we've not got children so aren't in that position but when I speak to people and hear what they're planning to get them for xmas I'm shocked...0
