    Hi,

I don't have children but speaking from the point of view of an adult who never had a "bed time", as a child. I always wished I did like my friends. :D Never happy eh?

Mind you at the time I was afraid of the dark, so I can remember once sitting at the top of the stairs, until I was allowed to come back down, I guess Mother gave up at that point. :D No doubt 5 minutes later I was fast asleep on the sofa.

On the other hand, the OH could never understand how he used to have to go to bed whilst it was still light outside.

Thinking about it, its 8 hrs for an adult isn't it, so maybe 10 hours for a child, so deduct from when they have to get up.

    HTH although probably not :rotfl:

I have just sent my two aged 8 and 11 up at 7.30pm and 8pm respectively -apart from they think it's 8.30 and 9. The living room clock hasn'tbeen changed since the clocks did so we told them it was an hour later than it was -and got away with it. :rotfl:

I think it is a bad idea to let children stay up as long as they like. Mine are 14, 11 and 9. All three are in bed by 9pm. Mainly for our benefit: gives me and my partner an hour to unwind before we go to bed at about 10 pm. Without that hour I think we would be condenders for the grumpy-parents-of-the-year award.

Usually until I can't stand it any longer :rotfl: but 8:30 at the very latest. Tonight he asked to go to bed at 7pm. He's 7.
  • Mine are 25, 26, and 27 and I would like them in bed for 11 even though they all live in their own places now...............

my 4 year old goes at 7pm, 5 year old at 7.30pm and 7 year old at 8pm. they all wake up around 7.30am. I do let them stay up a bit later at the weekend if they behave in a feeble attempt for me to get a lie in. lol
  • Well, my 7yr old goes generally between 7:30 and 8:30pm on week nights and Sundays. Its a bit vague because it depends on how much homework etc we have had to do and how much reading for school etc  Also cos he tends to draw the process of bedtime out rather a bit BUT he is always asleep by 9pm which sounds late but he HONESTLY wouldnt fall asleep if we lied and told him it was later and put him to bed at 7pm... we have TRIED many times LOL!

On Fridays (like now!) we have "dvd night" which is me and ds watching a dvd in bed together with nibbles (popcorn etc) ... hubby opts out and stays downstairs lol as he cant cope with kids films lol!! (tonight it is Ice Age 3 - hence i am "just popping on the laptop whilst in bed" pmsl..)

On a Saturday he stays up until 9pm-ish because he watches Strictly and Merlin :T Then its straight off to bed lights off, good night! :rotfl:
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?
