Coopers of Stortford, taken money, no goods and being ignored

I put in an order to Coopers of Stortford on 17th October and they took the money from my card on the same day. Since then nothing, have tried phoning, but each time over 40 in queue ahead of me, and emailing but apart from auto reply nothing.

Have spoken to someone else on this forum who also sent an order on the same day as mine but not had the money taken for it, they emailed them and got reply straight away, saying they were out of stock of things and they would get their order later in month.

So not sure what is going on, it seems if they haven't taken your money they will reply to you but if they have they are keeping their head down.

So wondering if anyone else is having problems with them or am I just unlucky.

They say give up to 28 days, its now 25 days for me but with them not replying to me I wondering if on day 29 I should start a transaction dispute with me CC to try to get my money back.

I also placed an order 20 OCTOBER, money taken 27 OCTOBER, no goods. Despite trying to phone six times and giving up as up to 70th in queue, sending three emails to get auto response only over 8 days duration. Being completely ignored as the never follow up with an email to answer queries. Never used this business before and never will again. Legal steps will be taken after 30 days. They have already been threatened with the OFT.

I had an email back but all it was, was a copy of the email they sent me on 19th Oct saying all my goods were being shipped by Hermes and order completed - its as it they are thinking they tell me the goods are shipped and I should be happy with that, if they do not turn up its nothing to do with them, they haven't said that, but the email says it for them, tried phoning again and again but 39 then 40th in queue so emailed them again informing them they have till 1st Dec to either send goods ,give me a delivery date and they are delivered before then or my money back if not will contact credit card company and trading standards.

I ordered some wall clocks off them, after a few weeks asked where they are was told they were out of stock, i asked why wasn't i emailed, muppet on the other end couldn't answer that, will not be using them again.

if 30 days have elapsed, then initiate a dispute via your bank. I did just that re a different company that didn`t send my wine making stuff and today I had the money charged back into my account, £58. Just put e mails to one side as they will ask what you have done to try and get the goods

WE sent threatening letter yesterday. They rang today saying some of order "will be despatched tomorrow, but some will be sent in DECEMBER". This will be a MINIMUM of 44 days since order if they deliver by 1st DECEMBER. Our letter threatened court action was sent recorded delivery. THAT WORKED then but still wait to see if order arrives. We will definitely pursue court action if needed.

I emailed them on Monday telling them that they had till Dec Ist to either send the goods or return my money if not would be taken legal action as the 30 days since putting in order had come and gone and I mentioned the Martin Lewis forum, giving the link and how I would be posting about the way I had been ignored by CS but they were quick enough to take my money.

In answer I got an email back giving me a copy of my order with everything saying completed after it. I was not amused, but then Tuesday morning most of my order arrived. So I emailed them again asking where the rest of the things were and sent the copy of what they had against my order which was the date the item was sent 19th Oct, and lo and behold received a reply from a human being saying they had been in touch with Hermes ( carrier) and it seemed that they had lost the item so they would send me a replacement, then another email two hours later an other one saying they not longer sell it so will refund the money, so waiting to see if that happens. Today another item arrived so still one outstanding.

After all this I will not be buying from the again.

Finally got a human contact but am ringing tomorrow to give them until 7th december to complete or will report to OFT and demand refund

Just a warning for anyone who has bought from them CHECK YOU CREDIT CARD bill, I just did and found they have now taken £186.80 from me but my goods only came to £161.90. VAT is included in the price and they say they only take the money when they despatch goods, well bar one item that was despatched monday, and money taken then, I have all my goods. I have received a refund for an item lost by the carrier - only threat of legal action got them to check where it was when they claimed they had sent it out on 29th Oct. I have never dealt with such a company and never will again. I just hope I can stop them taking more and more money from me. Will have to phone credit card company - a 0871 number and no alt - to have it banned from my card.

does anyone know if this company has sorted themselves out yet as my mother asked me to order something from them over the internet but just seen this thread and its made me a bit wary
