Flue

Can Flue from an oil burning stove or oil boiler be used for a solid fuel stove? I'm told it's class 1.

As suki1964 says it does look like twinwall and enamelled stovepipe. However for peace of mind I would get an opinion from an installer. Just ask for a few quotes even if you intend to fit yourself. Even a sweep may be able to advise. Also what diameter is the flue as you can not fit a stove with say a 6 inch outlet to a 5 inch flue pipe according to the regs.

Thats his trouble though w50nky - the installers are saying he needs to buy flues from them and his plumber says the pipe is fine

I would say the twinwall is good to use just get the stove pipe bit checked

I have had installers give me quotes. Those installers who are also retailers are saying that I need to replace this, those who are plumbers/installers who aren't retailers are saying that this is perfectly good for my purposes.

Hmmm, theres a lot of installers/fitters who would do that, one place I know were trying to charge us 120 a meter for the flue - we paid 50

    Sorry, missed that bit somehow.

If installers are saying it`s ok to use then that would be good enough for me. They would be signing it off anyway so you should be covered with your insurer.
