I'm with pixelchick10 101%, as i said this in my earlier posting.

As for the brownies, our daughter wears hers there too :) However, the wheels are removable and it takes seconds to do this, and then they can be worn as trainers in the normal way. So dont ban them, why not kindly ask for the wheels to be removed during brownie time ~ it's simple really

I really think this is the case of the oldies having a moan.

They should remember that it's not safe on the streets these days to let our younger ones out to play like they could. And it's possible like with our 9yr old , this is the only time she will play on them when we go out shopping , as she's to frightened to play in the street.

Would like to know from igottawii, where they suggest a 9yr old ( or any child from the age of 5 upwards )go and play on these, whilst being safe.

And may i suggest to igottawii, that they actually try out a pair of these and have some fun, instead of sitting in front of the tv playing games for which the user name suggests they do. As he obsivously knows the safe places to go and play on these.

Happy wheeling to all those fans who read this, and long may the craze continue :T

  • Can you get an adult version of these?? Would make going to work in the morning much more enjoyable.
  • Hello,

    Yes, Adults sizes are available...

But they suggest you try /buy a size larger than normal as they tend to come up smaller than normal shoe sizes, hope this helps you :)

The great thing that folks who hate Heelys (me included) will like to hear, is that most of today'g generation whizzing around on these things will all be in wheelchairs on on crutches by the time they are 30's because the principle and use of the boots stretches and weakens the Achilles tendon...

To OP, sorry, your thread seems to have been distracted a little, hope you manage to track down a reasonably priced pair for your little 'un! :D

Can I just point out that whoever thought it was a good idea to put kids on wheels and then take them into THE SUPERMARKET has a lot to answer for. My local Tescos is alive with the little darlings whizzing around with no regard for the safety of others - hope this craze dies an early death!

bet you opposed clackers as well :p

My kids have a version that is strapped to the shoes: so we can change shoes.
They love it. It didn't take long for them to get the hang of it...
Still allowed in the school playground.
I wouldn't dream of taking them to the shops with those!

What a load of rubbish. How nasty are you. And for your information whilst I was younger ( approx aged 13 yrs) I ended up in a wheel chair for 8 months or so due to problems with my Achiles tendon on my right leg - however this was due to premantley living on my bicycle !!

    QUOTE]

Just spotted this thread and wanted to say these strap on ones are for sale in Woolworths for £3.

Haven't bought any myself as my eldest has only just turned 6 and is not really into anything like this yet. He prefers his scooter and bike. But we have seen loads of kids at school wearing the strap on ones having great fun!
