Was due for a cut today but cancelled, doesn't look that bad anyway, so will only go if I think I'm looking dreadful and then will go somewhere for a trim that is much cheaper than normal salon - I do get discount as I've been going for ages, but the girl who usually 'looks after' me is the deputy manager and her cost is quite high anyway.
Had it highlighted before Christmas and it looks ok at the moment, but thought if it starts to look crappy, I'll ask my friend to help me do a home colour to save there too (can't believe what my pr Christmas appointment for cut and colour cost me).
herbal essences shampoo and conditioner in sainsburys at the moment on BOGOF and there is a voucher for a free cut and blow dry on it. I had one last year very posh salon and hair looked lovely.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I am trying my best to cut back but without success, i am terrible.:o
For example i went to town to buy a pregnancy test from bodycare for £1, i ended up in mothercare spent £41 on ds3. I went in Shoe Zone and spent £10 on dd. I then went to primark another £36. All i should have spent was £1.
A few questions, What are Soda crystals? how do you use them? where do you buy them from? You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !
Would you like to speak to the man in charge, or the woman who knows whats happening?0 -

I did, and i am very pleased to say it was negative lol. I already have 4 and no more room to put another 1. Also that would be a 3rd child conceived whilst taking the pill, and being under 30 our LHA will not do a sterilisation. Oh well. 2.3 more years to go, although my OH is considering seriously a Vasectomy. That should be fun.You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

I tried this too.BRILLIANT!!!So simple and it definately saves on loo roll.I just have to get used to the noise it makes, that THUD,THUD,THUD as it tries to unroll a little, rather than that lovely musical WHHIIIRRRRRRRRRRRR as the entire roll unfurls onto the floor.:D
I change the roll to a non-squashed one when we have visitors so they dont realise how poor we are."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
I am so pleased with myself for managing to keep the food budget low. Thanks to the inspiration on these threads!!!I couldn,t spend enough last week to get my shopping delivered from tesco could,nt get it up to the £50 minimum spend so went to the store and found myself heading straight for the reduced cabinet.Groceries I needed came to under £30 so I was naughty and bought wine and beer too!!!(The wine was reduced and the beer was on special offer.)
I even "wombled" as the self serve till had a reciept left in it from the previous customer,I got an extra 36 clubcard points and 3 computer for schools vouchers at customer services desk using that receipt(Not going to womble again, felt too sneaky)"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -

screw that! it's the damned visitors who can't ration themselves!! :rotfl:
True!I used to wonder why the loo roll would be almost finished after my mum came to visit, was beginning to think she may have an embarrassing problem, until my son told me that she takes her handbag in with her and fills it up with my loo roll so she doesnt have to buy any for her own home.It might be funnier if it wasn,t true:rotfl:"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
We do the squashy thing, OH didn;t realise it was me doing it, and looked at me a bit funny when I explained why....
Oh, bless your mum. You'll just have to nick it back when you go round there! This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0 -
Mym mum keeps straightening the loo roll out  She doesn't believe it works, lol, so I've started doing it at work instead, :rotfl:
