What Do You Want To Learn in 2012?

Another contender here for learning how to use the overlocker that's been sitting in the cupboard, but I can claim the time victory here as mine's been in the cupboard for 18 months
What I really like to do though, is learn how to ice cupcakes so they look really professional...I have been looking at some videos on you tube, but need to crack my new icing bag and nozzles out and actually DO IT! My icing style at the moment is 'rustic' which is OK sometimes, but doesn't have the wow factor.

Lots of the things I would like to learn involve lots of expence. So I am going to say I'd like to learn to be a better book keeper for my little business giving it a better chance to flourish so that I have money to learn the things I want to learn, and time where I'm not guilty or frustrated about the admin I should be on top of!0

To make jams, chutneys etc using the veg I grow
to Learn to use a sewing machine, with a view to making curtains and costumes for DS (he's only 18 months, so I have plenty of time!!!0 -
Ohhh fantastic thread - we can all look back and see what we've achieved this time next year!:D
For me:- Be more adventerous with my sewing machine - I can do curtains, draft excluders, pets beds ... there is no excuse for not moving onto something more challenging!
- Grow more veg - have done lettuce etc for years and this year had success with runner beans & peas .... it's not as hard as I think it is!
- Knit more & be more adventerous - I've just finished a huge throw for me knees in the winter ... I struggle with following patterns so must master this!
- Be more organised with paperwork - I start of well at the beginning of each year but currently have a whole basket of stuff to be filed
- Use my bike more - popping down to the shop etc ... no need to take the car!
- Sort out the loft and sell anything possible - stuff was stuck up there when I moved in ... if I've managed without it for 5 years, I don't need it!:)

DM makes fantastic yorkshire puddings - the secret is the eggs!:)
Always use 2 (even if the recipe says 1) - believe it or not, how old they are can affect how well the yorkies rise.
Very hot oven, heat lard & then pour the batter in as quickly as poss & get straight back into the oven. HTH
I will also add learn to make Cornish Pasties - I love these but have never tried to make them myself. Now on the hunt for a good recipe too!:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I wish to be a better cook. Meal plan, and have at least 70% of our weekly food intake be from homemade produce.
Teach others how to crochet , and hopefully make money from it!
Sort out the house. Boyfriend has been talking about us living together, yet in the 7 months we have been together, I still haven't let him stay over, I do use my son as an excuse, which is only partly true. I'm just too ashamed of how terrible it really is.
Learn to utilise my time more effectively.
I would like to learn a new craft, but I have too much stuff lying around from my current crafts that I have no room for anything else.
I'd like to learn to ski.
Currently learning Gaelic, I'd like to pass my exams and move up from beginner.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb

Finish the book I'm writing and get it published
Meal plan more often
Save to go abroad once next year
be more organised
Learn how to make food leathers in the dehydrator
Get fitter / Loose a stone
Declutter the loft and shed.
Possibly move holiday caravan to a better cheaper site.
And not stress if I dont get any of this doneIf you dont want it - dont waste it - Freecycle it!0 -
I would like to develop my crochet skills as I really enjoy it and it stops me from snacking in the evenings
Think I would also like to get back playing my flute too, it is relaxing and challenging all at the same time.
All I need to do is switch off the TV and computer :rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
