airmail with proof of posting only includes £32 compensation
for an item costing £80 you should send by international signed for or airsure with additional compensation0 -
Thanks. I'm hoping I've got it right because I noticed the airmail only insured up to £32.
I used the royal mail calculator and selected value up to £100.
For the weight of the item, the result suggested Airsure small packages, up to £500 insurance and signed for at a cost of £8.370 -

Just one more question
The poster hasn't responded yet but, assuming he does, am I right in thinking I will have to attach a sticker for customs. What should I put in the item description? Do different items have different costs or anything?
Sorry for all the questions, as you can see I don't post overseas very often.0 -
yes you will need to put a customs sticker on it, just put car parts for item description, then you just put the weight and the value.
don't forget to write small packet on the envelope too to make sure it goes for small packet rate0 -
regarding him responding...dont forget the time difference, he will be around 6 hours behind us...0

Sorry, I just realised how my assuming he does bit reads. I mean assuming he accepts my offer rather than assuming he replies lol.
But, yes the buyer is 5 hours behind because I checked earlier when I mailed him.0 -

As the badge is second hand state on the customs form (CN22) that the car parts are second hand.0 -
How much lower was the second highest bid?
You could consider a second chance offer to that bidder and save your self all this hassle and worry.
Edited after reading the posts below…The winning bidder did not meet the buyer requirement for UK buyers only so I think the seller is entitled to reject the winning bid. If I am wrong please let me know. Thanks0 -
The next bid was only £2 lower but I wasn't sure how the second bid thing worked.
Plus, the listing for the other bidders just went straight to the second bid form when I clicked on the next bidder's name so I couldn't find out where he was from.
Edit to add: Bit too late now lol but I've just done a google on the second bidder and found out he is in the UK and has 100% feedback. Ah well, all these hassles are a good learning curve0
