  • hi i've recently had a parking ticket whilst visiting a maplins store in regent st leeds to which i spent almost five hundred pounds. there the UKCPS are carrying out a scam. at the front of the building it tells you free parking but ther's only four spaces & one disabled one. one of the four is taken up by one of there scammers in a silver mercedes benze estate with a camera fixed on the dashboard waiting for you to park up & put a ticket on your car if you park anywhere else. dont pay wont pay i'll be taking all way to the court as well as gathering more evidence of the scam as well as inviting BBC Look north.

I got an "invoice" recently for parking my moped on the very large pedestrian area at the Carlton Centre in Lincoln. I parked just off the car park beside a large rose bush area which is surrounded with 3 ft bollards.
I wrote to the Coop who own the car park to ask them why they are dealing with these cowboys, I got a rather condescending letter from Banks Long and co who "manage the car park, According to Ms Peach I was a danger to blind people who use the Carlton Centre, quite frankly if said blind person did not walk into my moped they would have fell into the large bushes or ruptured themselves on the bollards. She also came out with a load of Bull about Reckless moped riders (I'm 52 and would not class myself like this) and also she alleged that the car park was used by lots of gangs as an unofficial park and ride into Lincoln, Funny there is free car parks in Lincoln centre!
Coop eventually replied but were not interested and were happy for their customers to be ripped off like this.
These cowboys have been paid to manage this car park but on many a Saturday you will see McDonalds staff marshalling cars on the main road in an attempt at clearing the backlog.
Bloody crooks will not be getting my money in fact I will be returning my Divvy card and shopping elsewhere in future

I recently visited a retail park, I parked in a disabled bay, put my disabled badge up, and went to pick up some flu remedy medicines. on my return to my car 10 minutes later I had a parking fine on my window, unfortunately I had made a genuine mistake of putting my old badge on display instead of my new one, the fine was £100 or £60 if paid within 14 days, I wrote to UKCPS explaining that I wasn't to well on that that and made a genuine mistake of placing the old badge and that I did have a valid badge, and that I couldn't afford the £60 fine, and offered to pay £30 like the local authority charge, I received a letter back saying they were sympathetic but I still had to pay the fine, I think this is very unfair as I am a disabled driver, and the charge of £60 for parking there for 10 minutes is horrendous, is there anything I can do, would be grateful for some advice. Thanks
  • hi there, ive been ignoring these parking fines for some time now but have now recieved a court order from county court bulk centre is the legitimate or also part of the scam should i pay it or not.....thanks
  • Hi I received a parking ticket on a trading estate and used the disabled parking bay as usual but when I came outs of argos ten minute a later I saw I had a ticket and unfortunately I had not put my pass in the window ,the fine was £100 and on enquiring on the Internet was advised not to pay this as it was a scam and also not to contact them ,the fine is now £125 and there is a threat of court ,I do have a pass and can supply this ,any advise would be appreciated thankyou
  • @chris3487 you need to start your own thread and read and understand the NEWBIEs thread.

  • Please could someone tell me if, having got a windscreen ticket from UKCPS, I should be waiting for the written notice or making my appeal within their 21 day time limit - which is about to expire!! Thank you. I am sorry if this is not on a new thread, I could not work out how to start one.
