Old Style Daily Thread for Wednesday 9th November 2011

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 9th November This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning All
Well the Beef stew I put in the slow cooker wasnt cooked by teatime because OH came in early from work. So I got some chicken out of the freezer and we had crispy sweet and sour chicken. I must buy myself a small deep fat fryer though, we dont use deep frying very often, but my kitchen is at risk every time I do it lol...
The stew will become steak & stilton pies for tonight and OH has taken some in his flask for his dinner today.
Log burner is on... WM not yet... will go on before 6 to make use of economy 7 electric.
I have 2 loaves of bread to make, one for Dad, for when Mum & Dad come down tomorrow to give their support.. :T
Then a shower and wash my hair so I dont have to faff tomorrow...
Hope everyone is well and huggles for those who need it....
I might not be on in the morning... depends what time OH is up for harvesting, we've decided in light of the Judge making the hearing an hour instead of 3 and nothing being done that should have been done that OH should go to work and Dad will come with me tomorrowFor OH to come with me it means he would have to start work at 2am to get veg back in time

Morning FW, Shalva and all who follow.
Cat had me up at 5 wanting to go out. He went out, saw the rain and came back in again:eek: So I was up then. Cuppa made, and on the old laptop.
Did some Christmas shopping yesterday. Saw children's placemats in a shop. Yes they were A3 size, but basically they were laminated cardboard, and cost £3.99 each! I have a small laminator (from Lidl) so I opened publisher, put DGD's name in on Word Art, went to Google images for all her favorites (Peppa Pig, Upsie Daisy etc) and made one of my own. Printed off two (so she can have one at home as well) laminated them, Voila! Just as good and very little cost!:T
Making baskets for everyone at the moment, stockings to do next.
Had a lovely roast with leftovers from Sunday last night. Cousin coming for lunch, so Spanish omlettes to do today.
Hope everyone is okay, and has a good day.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Shalva, not OS at all, but can you tell me what is being said over there about the Sarkosy thing? I am intrigued by the whole thing!
Tappers, glad you went to the doc, hopefully it will be nothing serious, and the action of dealing with it will help. What happened about your shifts?
Redruby I cant believe how much your dad eats, he must have hollow legs, lol! Good they have taken notice, though!
JulieG hope you are ok today.
I have barely slept all night, and am up in the pitch black wandering the house and rattling my chainsthe boys are still fast asleep. Voice is very croaky, and I have developed a tickly cough now, my glands are huge, so obviously fighting this thing like mad! Wont be at work today again, and will no doubt spend they day snoozing
I need to catch up with my sis at some point too, and get the update on BIL, I missed her call last night when I was in the shower, and it was engaged for ages after, no doubt she was ringi ng round both families.
Have a good day everyone, hugs and spoons all round, especially for LW and Molly. How's poppy btw?

Another wet and misty day to look forward too. Felt so warmed up my long purple coat yesterday. Ah was heaven. Over the top, as to be honest it wasn't as cold as Monday evening. But i did have a skimpy dress so thats my excuse anyway
.
Well yesterday wen't well, got the funding secured for a new tool for OH. Its sign off day today and self employment as from midnight last night! I'm scared, excited and bricking it all at the same time.
Plans today, going to do some letterhead / website writing while OH works on the leaflet design. OS stuff wise, sorting out house and what were having for tea.
Have a good day all x0 -

Morning all,
No rain here, but its chilli, off to work today, so no washing this morning, I did a load yesterday which is still on the airer, so no room for more .
DD is really enjoying her placement, she is getting to do loads of things, unlike her poor friend, who is at another nursing home, and has washed up for 2 days solid, poor thing is so fed up.
JackieG, dad does eat a lot, always has done, (mind you he is 6ft 4) so I am glad he still has his appetite, hope you feel better soon xx
Omlette for dinner tonight, with a few chips and some salad, nice and easy.
Meant so say my chest feels so much better now, and I am very much on the mend, apart from the odd bought of coughing, lets hope I have had my lot for the winter
OK better get on, Farmers Wife good luck for tomorrow xxxx
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Adelight, have a great day xx0 -

Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, filled the car up with petrol (well I put £30 in, any more than that and it doubles the cost of the car, lol), fish fed, washing over the radiators, breakfast eaten.
Cottage pie for tea, in the fridge ready to heat up tonight.
Work is a nightmare, 2 out of 4 machines aren't working, new machines due soon, but not soo enough!
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
