Unfortunately you do get what you pay for.
You can't expect the sound quality on a flat panel of most makes to be any good at all. You will need to connect it to an external system like a 5.1 DVD/blu ray system to get the benefit.0 -
The T.V. arrived today, and was installed by the people that delivered it. I have to say at the moment we are not very happy. The picture is alright, but the sound is TERRIBLE! very tinny.
My husband who knows what he is doing, tried everything possible to improve the sound, but no luck. The guys that delivered it said " the HD channels are on 50 & 53, but they are not showing, sometimes this happens, If you re-tune again they might appear." Well I am not very happy with is, we did re-tune still no channels 50 etc
Has anyone else got their TV yet, and what is their opinion..........
What do you think I should do now...... complain to M&S and return it?
Hi, mine arrived today, no installation just a dump and run affair.
There is a large sticker on the box which reads non returnable if opened unless faulty. However my concern is the specs have changed from what originally was listed on the page.
The tv i have had delivered has no mention of PVR and the site now reads "with usb PVR" (or something similar )
It now apparently has only one scart socket where as orginally it had said 2 on the order page. The picture on the box is also nothing like the picture on the web site.
Not sure if i should just return it as not as described or...open the box and see.:o0 -

I don't see anything in the TV description to indicate it has HD Freeview. 'Full HD' & 'HD Freeview' are not the same thing. I suspect this TV has standard Freeview, hence you cannot get the 4 HD Channels.
Re sound quality, you could connect the TV to your home stereo via HDMI or 3.5mm Jack cable (from the TV's headphone socket).0 -

:rotfl::rotfl: we acually really like hannspree's we had lg before but since having kids we don't wanna waste money on a tv that might have a fight with some crayons or a screwdriver:eek: don't get me wrong i'm not saying there the best of the best but they suit us for the time beingDEC GC £463.67/£450

Russ331 Thank you for your input.. I find it very confusing regarding the HD Freeview or not. If the TV is sold as "full HD" well surely that should give you HD Freeview? So in fact we do NOT have HD TV? I still cannot figure out why, SOOOOOOOOOOO confusingWhen man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0

The TV is capable of displaying Blu-Ray DVDs, etc in 'Full HD', however, you have to connect an HD source, e.g. BD Player or HD PVR to the TV.
If you want a Full HD TV with in-built Freeview HD, you'll have to return this one for refund & buy a different TV.
As I've mentioned in a previous post I think this TV is the best deal of the moment. Usually near £500, it's currently £440 delivered less £100 Sony Cashback = £340. Full HD. Freeview HD. Connect to Internet via cheap ethernet cable. Excellent Reviews from at least 5 respected sources to prove it's performance. Only downside is 1 Year Warranty. A much better TV than this M&S.0
