  • normally when your up-grading the same software, it will un-install an older version of it for you when your installing the next one up.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.

The msi file is an installer package file, once you find it and point to it, it may cure the problem. It may be on your HD somewhere (c:\windows\installer maybe), or on the original CD.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the software should cure it, if you can't find the msi file.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • I did a search and could not find the file.

I attempted to remove the virus software and couldn't because of the same pop ups.

    This is really bugging me.
  • I just tried to download the file again and I can't because it only lets you download it for 30 days when you purchase it. Should have made a copy. :(
  • go to start/run type in msconfig and apply then go to the start-up tab un tick everything and click apply then restart and see if this stops it.

  • also you could try clearing your cookies then re-installing the software, if your running IE 7 click on IE7 go to tools and internet options/ general tab browsing history/ delete/ delete all/ ok/ that might help if you want to re-install software

  • Untick everything or are there some I should leave?
  • I found a copy of the virus software that I had saved. I can't remove it or reinstall it because the messages just keep popping up.
  • Thank you for staying up to help me with this by the way. I really appreciate it.
