I wonder if, had Sony simply told them to send it back for repair, the OP would have even noticed that the reconditioned model was not the original?0 -
Whatever youre going to do make your mind up quick. I paid £300 for one for dh and it broke just over the year, and the best they could offer is you give them the ps3 Plus £100 and they give you a 2nd hand one.
So £400 for a 2nd hand ps3 when there has been known problems with them!1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -

Not at all, I disagree with some peoples opinion what a refurbished product is.
Sony repair 1000's of PS3's, they simply exchange for one that has been repaired earlier. I know that they often have new cases but there is no way of knowing how much use the internals have.
I have a one and I used to frequent the PS3 forums, I read many times about peoples refurbished units.0 -

There is a massive difference between your own secondhand goods and somebody elses. To me it would be like wearing secondhand underwear0 -

If thats true, i really dont want to know what you do with your ps3.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

No i'm not. I bought the item brand new. I am the only and original owner. Secondhand means the item was previously owned by another.
Regarding a like-for-like replacement, I plan to take photos of my PS3 to show there are no marks or scratches etc.0
