new mySupermarket site

I am also having difficulties with the new site, I use it as a comparison only tool, keep my basket filled with the same items I'm likely to buy, then compare weekly before going to stores. Two problems I'm having are... can add but can't remove items from basket, they say they are removing but just won't go, (tried refresh and re boot) second one is that if I click on view shelf or view manufacturers other items, there is no back to basket tab, so have to use the browsers back button which gives me a white transparent screen (like a watermark on paper) then only way back is to close the page down and start again. Anyone else having these issues.
I have contacted the tech dept explaining this and telling them its the same with:-
Netbook...XP and Google Chrome,
Laptop... Win 7 and IE8 and
PC...Vista and Firefox
Answer I got back was that they find it strange but firstly they do not support Netbooks !!!!
secondly to try Google Chrome or Firefox on Laptop...hmm doesn't inspire confidence does it.0 -
I just cant get the hang of it, wish they had left it alone.0

I wish it would change back. I had another look just now and saw 9 messages. Wow - maybe there's some good news, I thought.
Ha, no - it's rubbish - eg 3 are about changing to another supermarket to reduce the cost of the items in the basket. Spare me.
The other website didn't treat us like idiots!0 -

I know what you mean, still struggling myself, but if you are having problems or are not happy email them, I have a few times now and they have been very helpful. I think they know there are teething problems and people struggling but unless they get feedback then how are they to know to what extent.
I know what you mean about all the messages and they seem to be in your face I hate those icons at the bottom of the screen they are very distracting.0 -

Sadly I did that before coming on MSE, weeks and weeks ago it seems. I was just told to get used to it like everyone else. I was in the minority.
I'd love to know their sales figures. I haven't put one order through since the change. And I have two s/market orders a week. My teens' mag subscriptions came through maximiles, we used it so often.
So, the advice, if I am 'not happy, email them' didn't help me at all! I'd suggest not clicking through to any supermarket from them. Money talks, not emails.0 -
I only search indivdual items despite the change.
im on netbook, use safari and find the site frustratingly slow.
dont go compare do supermarket comparision now?
im quite old fashioned I look at flyers for each supermarket that come in paper for offers.
Also look on website morrisions will send flyers for offers.
I go direct to aldis, lidls and marks sites.
So I shop around offers.
milk I know farmfoods cheapest
maybe i overfpay on somethings buy not comparing but mostly buy own brand value qand reductions if its not on offer.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

As I said before, I only use this as a comparison site I keep around 170 items in my basket / trolly then based on prices, decide which store to visit. As I was getting no help whatsoever from their tech dept, I decided to do a bit of experimenting with our pc, netbook and laptop, started a new account with wifes e-mail and no problems (well apart from the crap design build) so then printed out all of our saved items, deleted everything in the basket, signed out, logged in again, refreshed a couple of times, then started to fill basket again...hey presto everything works again, I can add / remove as normal, still can't do a few things that the old site could, but I can live with it until (if) they fix them.
So basically if you had a saved basket in the old system, then you need to delete everthing and start again....SO WHY DIDN'T THE TECH DEPT ASK ME OR MAIL PEOPLE TO DO THIS!!!!!0 -
I totally agree with the people who are saying the new website is totally rubbish. I often browse on a NetTop (Acer Aspire Revo with Ion) and despite being a dual core (OK, it is only an Atom) CPU it is so sluggish it is almost unusable, whichever browser I try - I have Chrome, IE, Opera and Firefox all installed. The most annoying thing is the pointless "toolbar" at the bottom of the window, which is the major cause of the slowdown - is there any way to get rid of this annoying and frustrating bar? Clearly this website has been ruined by one or more overly clever web designers who didn't bother to test the website on more modest machines than Core i7s. As an IT Professional myself I'd be ashamed to be associated with them... I'm off to see if I can find another website as this one is more or less unusable.0
