The new layout is pants. Too cluttered , too bright...why ruin a good thing?! I do like the addition of beauty produts though:cool:
  • I was mortified when I saw they had changed it. It didn't like what I tried, but have to admit I am rather an old dinosaur when work-related sites change, and then I gradually get used to them. What I did notice was that it was mega-slow but maybe this is just the Beta-version and it will improve with use. I also visited Morrisons site and that had evolved somehow since my last visit. I hardly buy anything these days, so why should I worry!

  • I agree with most of the criticisms and find the revamped site too cluttered and very slow to load probably due to the animated adverts on each page. However, I am sure that thier techie people will heed the comments here and tweak the site again. If most people don't like the new format they will vote with their feet. I,for one now find it easier to look at each supermarkets website and do my own comparisons. Because of this I have visited Morrisons more. It won't be long before some enterprising soul starts a new comparison site which serves its viewers better!
    stay lucky!

  • oh and the new version is awful on a mobile device.

Just came in to say the exact same thing!

I went to check something for my mum and it just would not work at all. Wouldn't let me change between stores, select a product to look at, and when I tried to search, it just kept reloading the page :undecided

I don't mind the new look, but I'm not exactly doing cartwheels that it doesn't work on my phone.
  • i don't know, guys.
i really enjoy the new site and have no idea what you're talking about.
i use Chrome and every time i open the site it runs smoothly.
more so - it's easier now to switch between stores which makes it much faster.
they also added Waitrose which is really great for me :)
i got an email from them, the other day, and they mentioned something about a new mobile app. coming soon.
    we'll just have to wait...

yes but not everyone uses chrome or should i say wants to use it just preferential choice.
me personally preffered the old site not so brash on the eyes its a shame they dont have a template selection like you do on forum boards that way if you like the new template you can have that or if you prefered the old look and ways you could have that choice as well.

I find switching was better all at the top as now you got boxes on the right and on the the left taking up screen space for products to me seems to have gone downhill plus chuck in huge space for advert its going to take even longer to do but i guess thats what they want subliminal advertising you will buy it, you will buy it, you will buy it,you will buy it!!!!
i just use the companies own websites i think they have got it so wrong they will loose market share shame.
  • I found the old site slow and clunky, and a search would take ages. I like the new feel of the new site.

I use the site to compare prices within one supermarket, so that I'm getting the best deal for Cheddar for instance. Use it every week, and have saved such a lot of money.:j

Did my shop on the new site this morning and am rather dismayed.

Only one item was flagged up as having a possible saving by taking the value range, which I chose not to. And that was it. Normally there are five or six items that I can save on.

It's not because I'm suddenly a savvy shopper. I noticed there was a BOGOF on some handwash and selected that - I usually select special offers and then deselect several when it turns out that they're still more expensive than non-branded. Anyhoo - NO Tesco handwash appeared at all on the site. So when the trolley was sent to Tesco, I did a search for handwash and found that Tesco's own was cheaper than the special offer.

Saving pennies in that way was my only reason for using the site - so what's the point if it's stopped doing the comparison.

Has anyone else had this problem?

    rumbly x
