I ought to sort out my emails too - I have 2 accounts, in one of them, nothing has been deleted since May 2010 and the other one is Nov 2011.

Yep - it was pretty simple really, I just clicked on delete and held in down for a while until they were all gone.... (they've just moved to trash so I have a while to refer back to them just incase....)

I daren't do it on the other email account though just yet.

I guess it makes sense to buy a bit of a wreck - once you've invested your love, effort and £'s it would be worth a lot more than a ready made version......

We've seen a property that we could do this with but we're a bit scared of taking on a project... although, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.....

Hmmm, I need to have a good think

I bought a bit of a wreck.....at the time it seemed all hippy and 'grand designs'. Over a year on, I have done sweet FA and feel embarrassed to have people visit. Projects suck:cool:

    Just saying.........:D

I love the idea of a project, but not right now. The business and the children stress me enough, I can't cope with any more stress in my life at the moment.....

Also, thinking about it, a mahoosive mortgage would most likely give me many sleepless nights as I really worry about things like that... So, for the time being and the probably the next few years. It will just be a case of OP'ing as much as possible and seeing where it takes us.

I chatted with a friend about it today and made me think. A mutual friend of ours had the "dream house" and then last year she was sadly diagnosed with cancer. She's doing really well now, but in the last year she has downsized from the dream house and now owns the house outright and is making the most of their money to do as many things as possible as a family....... Puts things in to perspective really.

    Yes, most definitely does.

I must say after Id paid off old morgage, we'd extended, finally got round to doing the bathroom then spent a month redecorating as everywhere was getting shabby... i was ... dare I say it... desperate to DO something. Didnt help that mate had just finished extension and we had nothing left to do. Started getting all twitchy and right movey.. I needed something to do.

Fortunately this house, although renovated and extended, still has loads of projects which will take us years of pottering to do. Some more urgent than others. Need to finish renovating phone box in garden, nearly fully stripped but still bits left to do, then needs reglazing, new floor and repainting. Dh very "practical" and I like doing my bit too.

You're right hdk, some of us just need to have some sort of project.... For some it's knitting a scarf, for me it's always been buying a new house :) this is the longest we've ever stayed somewhere.

Funnily enough was just chatting to DH and we're going to set some little house projects to keep us going over the next year. Some gardens stuff and a bit of decorating and new accessories here and there.

Did I read your post correctly... Phone box in the garden?

TT's done, accounts checked and all in order. A shuffle from the Birthdays account to cover the cost of a birthday present I bought earlier in the week.

Lots to do, sun is shining, evening out tonight which I'm very much looking forward to and I'm expecting a call from a friend in Oz at 9am.

    Happy days
