Oh that could be brilliant then if your school hols are different.... If this is the case then I would definitely consider it as weather wise it's a lovey time to go.....
August - I would avoid if possible as it is hurricane season.... Orlando is fairly safe but even so there tends to be a lot of heavy rainfall in August. Plus, flights are at the most expensive during August.
To be fair, no matter when you go, I'm sure you will all have a wonderful time which is more important than a bit of rain and a few q's....0 -
Did a staggering 3p worth of tillie tidies earlier..... Seems the accounts were already fairly tidy.
We went for a little drive this morning and did a drive by viewing of a house we had seen on rightmove. It's in a nice little village and the house looks lovely, but DH has declared that it isn't quite right.
We only have slightly itchy feet (since the LC was a no go) so we will just continue to OP until the time is right.... Or learn to be content with what we have of course!0 -

Be warned Lula, thats how it starts! Always starts with a lttle gentle browsing, then the drive / walk bys, then convincing DH that we need the house valued, then viewings.....
Thankfully this is it for us, definitely our forever house,.... at least till / if the kids leave and we dramatically downsize properties and buy a camper van!Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

You're right, it's feeling like a slippery slope already........ We'll see. A long way off making any decisions and I hate the idea of having a humumgous mortgage for ages.......0

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday......
Lazy morning mooching around, got a bit of house work done - bed sheets washed and dried and hoovered the house and dusted around.
We rewarded ourselves by going out for Sunday lunch - last time we did this it was Mothers Day last year... so since it was such a hectic weekend last week when it was my birthday and mothers day, it seemed like a nice thing to do yesterday.
DH and I had the most amazing roast beef dinner and the boys shared a ham/cheese panini, chips and coleslaw. Hubby and the boys had puds and I had a rather nice Spice Chai Latte....... Cost was £55 which was funded by the entertainment budget as the eating out budget ran out a week or so ago!
It's been an expensive month, lots of birthdays, DS2's party etc etc, but thankfully it had all been budgeted for, so we're OK.
Managed not to do a food shop last week, just need to pop out for some bits and pieces today which will tide us by until the end of the week for a proper food shop.
Pay day for me tomorrow and DH will be paid on Thursday. So I get to do my money shuffles a little bit earlier this month.
Thank goodness for eBay and selling a couple of bags - this is what has funded the Mortgage OP this month and some holiday savings.....
Hopefully back on track again next month.
I've worked out all of the numbers and to get the sort of house that we would like next we're looking at an additional mortgage of between 150k and 200k. Clearly our dream of being mortgage free would become a distant dream and instead of 4 years from now we would be looking at more like 15 years.
Of course, that is based on the currently low interest rates, they will change at some point so that could extend the term further.
Part of me thinks I'm just totally nuts for even thinking about it - I should just be content with what I have. The other part of me just wants to go for it.........
If only I had the crystal ball that I seem to be thinking of quite a bit recently.0 -
Picked up bits and pieces from Mr S earlier to tide us by until the end of the week when we will do a big shop. £24 spent.
Lunch was a baked potatoe which had to have the sprouting bits removed before cooking. Served with coleslaw that passed its best before date a few days ago.....0 -
Hooray Hooray - it's n e a r l y Pay Day!
Ok, in other news, some new neighbours have just moved in today a few doors away and I am hoping that all of the people that are there currently are just there to assist with the move otherwise I will be moving sooner than later...... they are also very loud.
We live in a tiny little Close, just 10 houses and everyone is lovely, friendly and very quiet..... I really hope that the noise, shouting, screaming and general blah is just because they are excited to be moving in............0
