    Morning!

Thank you for all of the lovely birthday greetings!

Hope all the mums out there had a lovely Mothers Day yesterday.

I had a lovely birthday and was spoilt by my lovely family.... It was a fairly chaotic weekend as I had family staying and it was my eldest sons birthday party yesterday so there wasn't much time for relaxation or taking things easy! But, all good fun.

Money Saving kind of went out of the weekend at the weekend, lunch with sister on Saturday, Takeaway on Saturday night (I paid for it all, despite being the birthday girl I always seem to end up paying where my sister is involved!), new make up in town and the cost of a 9 year olds birthday party which I suspect has been debited from my card this morning... We had a science party in a hall and shared the party with our lovely neighbours as it was their daughters birthday too.

So, damage assessed and money shuffled and we need to be sensible now for a little while.....

Freezing here, minus 1 degree on the car this morning. Took DS1 in to school in the car as we had to hand in his rainforest project and it was too big and heavy for him to carry. My hands were frozen just carrying it from the school gates to his classroom.

It's DS1's actual birthday tomorrow, he's having a friend round for tea - I'd thought about taking them out for tea but after all of the expense this weekend, I will be cooking spag bol instead (his favourite).

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

    Tillie tidies done....

Sun shining but snow is falling....

DS1's birthday today - he loved his presents - I think_ we've taught him that he has to act pleased even if he sin't - so I'm not 100% sure....

Splitting headache, driving me nuts, nearly a week on and off now...

Need to go and cook the Bol for tonights Spag Bol -DS1's favourite and he's having a friend round, so his choice...

Also need to bake some cupcakes later for nursery - they are having some sort of bake off thing for comic relief and I committed a while ago - need to pop out and buy some sugar and butter and will do them tonight. Could do without it to be honest.

Feeling a bit stressed at the moment, seem to have so much going on with home, work and other bits and pieces etc etc.... Meh!

Decided to WALK to the shop just now..... Despite it being very cold, it's glorious sunshine, so I'm very pleased that I took a stroll rather than jumping in the car.

Got the butter and sugar for the cakes, half price trifle for pudding tonight and a tub of Mr S cheddar cheese coleslaw for my jkt spud for lunch.

I'm a bit of a coleslaw obsessed weirdo and I highly recommend Mr S's West Country Cheddar cheese coleslaw - not cheap at £1.45 for a small tub, but i's quite simply the best supermarket coleslaw and I've tried them all. In actual fact it's even nicer than the little places I used to frequent for lunches when I wasn't such a skin flint.

Bolognese for dinner is bubbling away nicely and smells lovely.

Just the cupcakes left to organise which I will need to do tonight.

Oh, and this morning I realised that i missed DS1's parents evening meeting last night. Felt terrible and quickly wrote a letter of apology to the teacher. Never done this before and it made me feel like a bad parent. Quite simply I've just had too much on and totally forgot about it. Oops.
  • You bad mother you ( joke!) - but sorry it has made me giggle , though it was me that for got really improtant things and remember the the silly bits !!

It's horrible when you forget things to do with the children. I think he trouble is that we are all just so busy nowadays and perhaps sometimes take too much on.

I agree that life just gets so busy with juggling appointments, food buying, food prepping, house stuff, work stuff, car stuff, bill paying, poo picking, etc. etc.

All I can say is thank God for tumble drying. One of life's little luxuries:D
