A:) DEO is a detachment of earnings order issued by a court, and an employer has a statutory duty to deduct as directed... A company or any other employing organisation can be fined for not administering such types of deduction when directed to...
Its like saying a company can refuse to pay SSP/MA when a person is legally entitled... they can't!
Rightly or wrongly, employers are unpaid administrators of many government depts. and must comply or face a whole raft of measures!
Correct...and if this company would rather sack the employee than impose a DEO then I'm sure he could do them for unfair dismissal!0 -

Not true, a DEO is imposed by the CSA using legislation, not by court order, and an employer can find many ways of releasing staff from employment without coming foul of the Employment Tribunals, especially small employers...0 -

Well I suppose it is which is the lesser of evils?
His company is a finance company, but irrespective, we both prefer to pay via SO over DEO or DD, so it's a win for all.
Dependant children recieive their contribution.
CSA get a tick in the box.
NRP contributes via their preffered method.0 -
He probably appealed to the "softer" side of the CSA (pause for laughter!!:D) He might have said to the CSA, that if they insisted on a DEO, then he would lose his job, as his employer was not prepared to put one in place. Putting emphasis on the fact that if that happened, then the PWC would get nowt but a fiver a week. The CSA obviously came to their senses, and saw that it would be better to accept an SO for the full amount, than £5 per week, especially if he did not have a history of non compliance. I sometimes think the CSA seem to go out of their way to alienate people!!!0

Heh heh , he is more 'gung ho' than I am, and hates the csa with a passion, so I just cannot picture him appealing to their softer side.
Oddly, I recieved an invite to participate in a survey not long after becoming a customer to the csa (and I have checked with some others and they have too) I didn't take up the invite, however it does seem that 'they' are interested in the effects of csa on family life.0 -
The CSA intrested in family life!! thats a joke between the CSA and my ex they did an really good job in destroying any chance of me seeing my kids and having any chance of seeing them!
All i was allowed in legal aid was £340 which my ex's brief soon used up with stupid waste of time letters!! Because of the amount of maintenace i was paying i could not afford my brief's fees, when i contacted the CSA to see if they could drop my payments so i could put it towards access. I was told that the welfare and welbeing of my children was of no concern to them, all they where intrested in was how much they could collect off me!!! When i did work extra overtime to try and pay for legal advice my maintenace payments went up again!!
And now they are trying to promote family life!!! Well if they where that intrested how come if i get married then my wife's wages would be taken into account and my payments would go up. So we are better off living apart. What message does that put out for people having stable relationship. Just out of intrest i wonder if anyone on CSA1 has been sent a survey? and will they take any notice i think not!!!!0 -

I did write the effects on family life, not that they are interested in family life. I'm sure many of you know my stance on that (and somehow I suspect the OP's ex maybe on a similar line) .0 -
The CSA are totaly against the NRP if you do go on there website there is no advice for the NRP just information as to what will happen to you if you don't pay!! Same if you phone the helpline they won't tell you nothing!!
Why don't they change there name to the anti-family-agency or we split kids up from there fathers agency!!
