You should be able to call them and so long as you have a couple of other tariffs in mind, then they should at least beat those.

Beware though, they will put you on a particular tariff and charge you the higher rate and credit you with the discount.

But........keep checking your bill as this month my credit was withdrawn with no notice and no explanation. Sent a message to them on 2nd Nov but no reply. CS not a good as they were sadly.

I am currently on SIM only for £12.26 a month, my charges are roughly around £16 per month with additional charges. I have an archaic phone.

Looking for a decent smartphone, HTC or Samsung for roughly around the same price per mth if possible
  • I've just got off the phone to retentions, I was after the Samsung Galaxy ace for my daughter. I got it for £10.43 a month with 200 minutes, 3000 texts & 1gb internet. Really pleased with that, it should have been £20.43 for the package. She's upgrading from the fiver a month sim. I will check my bill though, had loads of problems last time I upgraded with my own phone, though they tell me those problems are fixed now.

Didn't get a bad deal with them, but had my own handset.

600 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited v2v calls,2Gb internet. £10: (I think it's 43) a month. Getting a rolling discount on that, sometimes it doesn't come through every month though, which means I have a double bill one month and practically nothing the next month.

  • Hi
Im new to this but felt i must post on this subject. They are good when you ring them and will try to get you the deal you want BUT make sure they set your deal up right. They didnt add the data to my package correctly so i was being over charged every time i went on the net via my mobile. When i called to complain they had to cancel my account and re start it again, I originally took out an 18 month contract but when they re started it they did it for 2 years. I called to complain and they have hopefully got it right now. I dont know about other people but i dont think they are brilliant to deal with. I seem to have had lots of problems since renewing with them.
    Hope that helps.:j

ive just had a virgin mobile retention deal but have not received anything in writing. i told them i was leaving to go to tesco mobile on a £10month contract(24months), 250mins, 500gb of data and plenty of texts(not really bothered about texts) and a new phone. virgin offered me a better deal to stay, £10.53 per month(18month contract), new samsung galaxy ace, 1gb of data and unlimited texts. i accepted deal and new phone has arrived. the only paperwork i have came with the phone stating tariff was £25.53 month and no mention of the data allowance or contract length. they did tell me on the phone that account would be credited £15 per month to bring it down to the £10.53. However, ive got nothing in writing and im concerned that they could renege on this deal or it will be just for a few months. ive spoken to them on the phone and asked for info in writing but nothing has arrived. ive just emailed them so hopefully i'll get something confirming details.

Last year took out a bb deal for the lad. 9300 (iirc), 500 mins, unlimited texts and 1gb mobile net for 7.50/month. Which included free insurance that's normally £7.99/month. Sorry if that's not the exact figures, but it was rather cheap at the time
