Redruby- poor Dad,I wish people would grasp the idea that if s.o.has dementia they forget to ask for what they need anyway :(I saw this when my Auntie who died earlier this year was in a home-she'd forget to have a drink, end up just having a sip and it wasnt enough.
I know it drives me mad, just been to see him, and his dinner was much better today (after me complaining) he has a sort of a shepherds pie with cubed spuds on, with cabbage peas and sweetcorn, a nice big plate full :T, I had also taken him a apple and rhubarb crumble with custard, which he ate, and then the home bought out stewed apple and custard which he also ate :rotfl:, he then had a cuppa, and was dozing off as we came away, hopefully he will have a restful afternoon now he is full.
Meant to say earlier, hugs to Lou xxx
Tappers, have you been yet ?
Hugs to Beth xx0 -
FW (((HUGS))) I've left a wee message on your other thread.:o
Beth oh, you poor thing, scans now, is it? I just hope they can get you sorted out soonest.
Molly Yay! Go you! Grrr at BB parking place nabbers. Not actually a BB place in my tale, but I nearly had a spat with a teenager in Olney today after seeing the dentist (got my new choppers, btw):D
I'd parked, in a proper place, at the far right of the parking area. BB in window. Went to visit dentist. When I came out, there was a white ...er.... rust bucket parked to the right of me, where it's not a parking place, there's an ornamental tree, and poking out into the road.
I managed to get my door open enough to squeeze in - just then Whippetsnapper Teen appears, and wants to access "my" side of his car.... he can't cos I'm very slowly and carefully reversing out of my parking space. Very slowly, you understand. Well, I don't want to risk my paintwork on his badly-positioned motor, now do I?:D
His face was an absolute picture, but there wasn't a thing he could say; it was made all the more satisfying as there was a council chap clearing leaves off the road, who could see what I was at, and was clearly trying not to laugh. Shame there wasn't a warden about, though.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Oops RosyRed sorry I got the RR mixed up as in RedRuby
Just cleared the patio in time, scaffolders came early so it's all up now.
Had a message on FB telling me that a lovely dear friend who we have known for 34yrs was found dead earlier today. No details as he lived in Spain. DH and I thought the world of him. Candle lit.
Begining to sink under sad and worrying news, think I'll go into hibernation and shut the world out0 -

Supposed to be making Christmas cards today but been on here reading instead, so I will have to start in a very short while as I want to cross it off todays list! Dinner will be a concotion of pasta, cabbage, toms and some protein with cheese followed by apple crumble, sounds a funny mixture but Im trying to empty my fridge a bit cos Im away next week for a few days.
Nothing else happening, but I will have to put my heating on tonight for a couple of hours as its so cold and damp here (N Staffs) but at least it isnt foggy like elsewhere.

FW - lots of love to you - read your post and tried to post earlier but lost it all!! Best of luck for Thursday.
Taken boys to school, washed all the soft toys collected at yesterdays Jumble sale ready for the adopt a toy stall at the Christmas Fair; washing DS2s bedding, sorted out all paperwork and ironing pile, showered and cooked the turkey legs for tonights tea - might end up doing it with chips though! Picking boys up shortly, then home to put casserole in SC and then out to do someones nails - boys tagging along with me (EEEK!). Feel shattered, but thats the result of yesterday - was brilliant and remembered everything and did everything that I needed to do. Just have one grovelling phone call to make (been putting it off!) and then will be up to date.
Tomorrow I start on the house as we've a visitor this weekend and I hate the house to be all over the place when we have people over. Got some reduced price lamb mince yesterday so will be making a moussaka tomorrow for the freezer. Hugs to Bramble, and all the poorlies xxxxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Also got a food magazine so browse over shortly.
Kitchen is cleaned and the mountain of clothes have been put away (not ironed though!!) tea loaf is in the oven - looks lovely, still got some bits to do but i am having a little rest. Ate some spicy cheese so need to work that offTrying really hard with my weight at the moment, I've put on too much so need to get on top of it! - managed 4lbs last week, but don't expect to see the same loss again.

Afternoon All
Seems that a lot of us are having a month as dire as the weather
Had a Doctors appointment today and she is not happy that my legs are still swollen, so she has put me back on diuretics and put them on repeat too
We have a big car park just for the disabled near to Wilkinsons and it is patrolled by wardens 24/7 and we quite often see drivers getting knicked for parking there without a badge, had to laugh one day when there was a van that shouldn't be there and the driver jumped out and put the bonnet up pretending that he had broken down, he ended up with a ticket.
beth (((((((Hugs))))))) sorry to hear about your friend.
Positive vibes for you re the scans x
Redruby We had the same thing in the care home where Mum was, she wasn't looked after at all well, bloody disgrace when you think of how much they charge  Surely a decent, adult sized, edible meal isn't too much to expect
FW positive vibes for Thursday xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
